History of Hockey is a product that was released by In The Game back in the 2012-2013 season. It received mixed reviews; some loved it, some hated it. Every box included 1 original memorabilia card, 1 autograph buyback, 1 rookie buyback and 1 ITG buyback.

The card that was special to me was the memorabilia card. Some were out of 40, there were parallels out of 10, but it also featured some original art cards, numbered 1/1. Those were litteraly canvases with pieces of memorabilia embedded in them. Although they were 1/1, there were more than one copy of those cards; the reasoning was that since they are hand-painted cards, they're all slightly different, hence the 1/1 numbering. Once again, some people hated it, some didn't mind.

I decided to go for the George Hainsworth original art cards. Within about a month after release, I had managed to get 3 copies of it, then it died off. Until two weeks ago when one of those popped on my eBay search. After a couple back and forth offers, we agreed on a price, and I received it this morning in all its glory :

I really love the fact that those cards are painted, and I LOVE the size of those jersey swatches. Here it is with its brothers :

Thanks for the look! :-) Now I can go back to my cards half-retirement. ;-)

Beauty cards, wow! Stay tuned for my ITG Used case tomorrow! Hopefully I can pull some vintage Habs for you.

Wow those are really cool. Love the artwork.

I too am interested why one red hat, really makes it stand out from the rest.

Maybe Dr. Price could chime in if he sees the post, but I feel like I've seen a yellow one when the product was released, but I might be wrong... My guess is that they wanted the different 1/1 to be different, hence the different colors used? But at this point it's really just a guess.

Love the original art cards. Jared Kelley's paintings are some of my favorites.

Congratulations on getting another one!

These are beautiful cards! I didn’t know the 1/1’s had variations.. are all the 1/1’s like this or just a select few? Cheers Paul
