This guy has a goal and assist so far tonight against the Isles. This guy is simply awesome right now. He is a beast!

Yes he certainly is.. and he does most of this by himself.. Imagine if he played with a top center.. That would be scary! I do not think he can keep that pace, but wow!
 
He'll be injured within a week and out for 1-2 months....same script every year....he leads at the beginning of the season but seems to always get injured early on.....
 
He could of had four goals tonight easily, he was all over the place it was unreal. He is always an inconsistent player so it will be interesting if he can keep this going. He likes to play half a year, take the second half off lol.
 
He is playing like a man on a mission, I actually think he will keep it up. Maybe not 2 points a game but I am thinking he could lead the league in scoring. Short season, you never know!

It's a good thing the first half of the season was washed out, he may not know any better :beer:.
 
ahh, this guy does not get injured like you think, you might want to double check his game log. He had one season when he missed a 11 games and another that he missed 9. Other then that he has had pretty healthy career. My guess is you must be thinking of some one else. Perhaps Gaborik?

Um, have we been watching the same Thomas Vanek? Because his lowest total of games played since 05/06 is 71 and he's hit 78 games in five of his seven seasons.
 
I also don't recall him ever leading the league in scoring at the beginning of the year. I remember him, Pominville, and Luke Adam has a good start last year, but not this good.

I've been long-time fan of Vanek, I don't think we've seen him as good as he can be in the NHL. Can he keep this up? I don't know, Buffalo is an odd situation, they really should have a new coach by now and if this is the year Ruff finally gets canned, I'm not sure if that'll be positive or negative for Thomas, as his playing style has clashed with Ruff in the past but obviously (at the moment) is very productive.
 
His game has never been very well rounded and, if I recall correctly, his effort came into question going back to his days in Minnesota.

Regardless if he is becoming a more complete player or not (I haven't watched enough to say) his release is rediculous. The puck is off his stick and on the net with the top level shots in the league. Good for him - I hope him (or someone else) makes a big run this year.
