So I've had this card for several years just collecting dust. I didn't pay a crazy amount for it, but I've also never tried to figure out what the deal with it was. After reading the KSA scandal thread here, I thought I'd post it to see what you all thought.

It DOES show up in the KSA database under the serial number shown and shows it as a 10. However, you can obviously see that the card is not numbered, yet there is the tell tale strip in the lower right corner that the numbering SHOULD be on. All of the other aspects of a HG from 2007-08 are there as well. Fake? Altered? Error?

To my knowledge, this is a HG Proof card. Some HG's were printed without a serial number over the years and found there way onto the secondary market. I'm fairly certain there is Ten numbered ones out there.

Same thing happened in 2009-10. There were multiple sets of these Young Guns High Gloss 'Proof' cards without the serial numbers Upper Deck sent out with redemption replacements as bonus cards from what I gathered over the years. I don't know if these ones from 2007-08 were from packs or sent from UD, but that was the case in 09-10 and it was delibrately sent out into the secondary market. I suspect this 07-08 Young Guns is the same thing.

Here's an example of one from 09-10. It has the High Gloss stamp and everything, but no serial number. Every Young Guns from 09-10 has a HG Proof version out there... somewhere.

I remember seeing the Enroth version years ago. Still need that Proof card for my collection.

I still think there is a market out there for these types of cards though. It's pretty unique.

Possibly a proof sheet cut card... I’d put another card from that set over it to see if it has been trimmed... most cards fit tight between the black borders of the case... this is the major thing I’ve noticed... I’ve got an “undersized”’graded Schultz... “compared to multiple raw Schultz from the same year” and that serial number corresponds to a Gordie Howe...

The serial number on mine or on yours?

Very interesting and thanks for the comments. It does indeed seem to be trimmed, comparing it with several other 07-08 YGs...it's very very slight, but it's detectable. If it IS a proof, which it seems that is the likely answer, would those have been hand cut?

The first pictures are of an “undersized Schultz”’ Nathan at KSA has determined it was cut from an un-cut sheet, unsure why the serial number was Gordie Howe.. last photo is a hand cut proof , and the final signed card.. proof is a lot bigger... if any of this helps... just my observations... cheers! Paul!!
