Tim Hortons Collectable Sticks are Back

Went to local Timmies and saw they had some new sticks. Mine was actually missing Peterson and Draisaitl (Arguably 2 of the top 3) but they did say the official launch with the ads is tomorrow.

I can't not buy the set. I'm too big of a sucker for anything Tim Horton's puts out in partnership with hockey.

Plus, I really liked the sticks the first time around. They look cool - good detail, nice 'presentation', etc.

Picked up a set today. I found it interesting that they added a little sticker 'seal' this time so you actually have to break that sticker seal to see if you have a gold stick. Good improvement.

My wife picked up the kids a bunch today. I asked them if we got a golden stick. They said no. Then after dinner, I decided to take a look at the sticks, and I noticed the seal was still on. So I asked my 8 year old daughter, how did they know that they didn't get a golden stick. She said, mom was busy driving and we couldn't open the seal, so the only way we could open it was pull the flap from the bottom. She showed me that all she had to do was press on the flap and pull it sideways and that was enough to pop the flap open without having to tear it. They popped it back in after and there was no sign that it had been opened.

so...not quite there yet.

On other note, I was just wondering if the distribution of the players are even. Or is there more of the player in the home city/province compared to other players?

I'm curious because the only player that wasn't available at the Tim Ho's they went to was Patrice Bergeron. First, he's not from a Canadian team, and second, and possibly more specifically to Vancouver/BC, there will be almost zero desire to buy his stick.

If you read the contest rules and other fine print they detail the exact production runs for each player. They're not made in equal numbers. They range from about 252k (Matthews) to 147k (Pettersson). Very rough math works out to maybe 35-60 of each stick per Tims location depending on the player.

Matthews: 252,384
Weber: 202,488
Bergeron: 184,848
Hellebucyk: 173,952
Draisaitl: 151,248
Pettersson: 147,744

Not surprising the Leaf and Canadien are the two highest prints. Pettersson is the lowest and Draisaitl not far behind so anybody thinking about piecing the set together over time should probably keep the numbers in mind.
