Toyota to field cars in 2007.

Good point Mark. Plus I really never thought of a Camry have horsepower.

Charger, Monte Carlo, 500. All I some horses, Camry, they will have a 4 banger in it.

Heck, does a Camry even come in a stick? Any idea who will lead and drive for this car?

Thanks

My first guess would be Bill Davis Racing. Micheal Waltrip I believe is the driver. Davis is getting no help from Dodge due to the fact that he dropped Dodge and went with Toyota in the Truck Series. I say it will be them.

Michael Waltrips ride for 2007....

Wow, that looks cool. To be honest I did not even know that was out yet. I was just going by what Davis did in the Truck Series. Thanks for the pic.

Dodge is the one who pulled their factory backing of Davis's truck teams when they found out Davis was helping Toyota develop their trucks. Waltrip has also put together his own race team for 2007 and will intead field Toyota's. This should come as no surpise to anyone, remember his Brother has two Toyota truck teams. I am just wondering how much $$$ Toyota is throwing at these guys.

That is right good old DW does drive a Toyota asn has those teams. You know they are throwing serous cash around. Waltrip's race team is in the Busch Series, correct? I knew someone dropped somebody, really hope that Waltrip can turn things around for Davis. He has had a rough few years. Bring back Ward Burton.

M. Waltrip already owns his own Busch team and has for quite a few years now. His 07 team I was talking about will be Nextel Cup teams. I believe the change could be good for Nascar.

Nextel, wow I did not know that. Change is good, just like when Dodge came back. Good luck to him.

 I can't stand the thought of having toyota in NASCAR....is the camry going to be a front wheel drive car??? Japanese cars in NASCAR just doesn't seem right. I would like it to be all american manufacturers...bring back the olds, buick, cadillac..etc. I would rather see a saturn in NASCAR than a toyota. its an American sport lets keep it that way.

I love NASCAR and always will, but it doesn't matter anymore at all what manufacturers are in the game. Every car looks exactly the same, with only slight differences, and those only visible to those who know what to look for. The only downside to this sport is they tried so hard to equal the playing field it took away any originality or identifiability (is that even a word) that most people love to get behind. Plus the manufacturers themselves now make vehicles that look like sisters to one another, even on the street sometimes it's tough to tell one company from another. So any new entry isn't a bad thing, just some more teams to cheer on!

Remember the Monte Carlo and the Taurus/Fusion are all front wheel drive cars, so the Toyota will fit in just fine. And also remember that Dodge is now owned by the German's so it's not really a American car company either. Easton55 is right, they all look the same anyway.
