What do you think when guys offer you cards and keeps asking for High-end Rookies in return. I think this is an important question. I don´t know what to do. It seams ok but is this guys trying to rip you of? I´m asking so I know in the future who I can trust and so.It seams innocent but can I trust that?

I'm not sure to understand exactly your question.

But, I have to say that it's frustrating when someone offer me a few low-end cards and ask for 1 higher-end piece on my list for the lot.

It's all a matter of preference. Personally, I like to trade same for same ie. high end g/u for high end g/u or rookies for rookies. However, everyone has their own collecting preference. If you get something you want and give up something that you consider of equal or less value personally, it's always a good deal.

Yeah that´s exactly my question. When someone offers me a lower-end card. Lets say I have a Crosby Rookie and someone wants it What I want from him is one of myplayers I collect. As much as I want the card he has. and purhaps it is impossible to find anywere else. I realy want to keep the Crosby. And then the deal is of. *Both lose right?

I have no problems to trade a $100 RC from my tradelist for 50 $2-cards from my wantlist. I'm just happy if I can cross some cards off my list.

But I have made the experience that more and more people are saying "I'm not trading this for that and that for this and only one card for one card...". This behaviour makes it sometimes really hard to do a trade at all.

I know what you mean. I sometimes get offers for my Crosby Parkhurst RC. And, what is the other side offering? A bunch of low-end inserts for my team collections, why is a side project.

I also hate people who say, well the cards books at 10$, but because it is mine, I say it is worth 30$.

Just trade for what you like and what you think is fair. Personally, it doesn't matter to me what kind of card it is, as long as I like it more than the card I'm trading (and it's at least a slightly reasonable trade), I'll do it.

I guess it depends on how much I want the card they have...In reguards to the want list in my sig I propbably would be very generous....I am not talking a Gretzky auto straight up gererous but probably would trade between
5x-10x for the golds and perhaps 2x-3x for the Moore....would consider even adding cards of my choice to the final trade.
But I would not do that with cards I have not been looking for for a long while especially if they are obtainable on ebay or through other traders

If I realy wanted the card I can trade lots and lots in favour for that person. It all depends on wants I guess. One day I can think NO way I´m gone do this. Then the next difference. Also I think you got to keep a certain standard on your trades so guys don´t start thinking you will give the cards away. But for the last card in a set or 2-3 left I would give a certain amount of value as a findersfee, you see. That is the importance in trading to keep things alright for both the seller and buyer. Most important.

It's tough sometimes. I tend to trade rookies for rookies, or just sell'em outright.

Simple, all I do when someone makes outrageous trade demands is ignore them. If they continue to pester me through pms I kindly tell them what the bvs of the cards are and politely tell them to get lost or something to that effect.

But you have to remember that in the hobby there will be people that always over-value their cards and under-value your cards. You just learn to deal with it. Recently on another site, I was inquiring about an auto patch someone had. He told me it was 2 colors, but demanded a multiplier on it. I told the nimrod that ever since the beginning of time multipliers only apply to swatches more than 2 colors for the most part unless it's a unique 2 color swatch. Fascinating, that he couldn't even provide a scan of the card..

If it's for your player collection and it's a near impossible to find card not only have I traded high end rc's for several lower priced cards but I have also traded in the other person's favor because they didn't have enough I could use. On the same note as well it has worked the other way around. If it's for the PC I would trade in a heart beat.
