Hey guys... I really didn't want to have to resort to this, but I have no choice. I'll try to make a long story short. TheBostonKid (Zach Andrews) agreed to help me with these two cards by winning the auctions as the seller would not ship to Canada. He won the auctions, and I paid him immediately. That was in June. After many attempts to contact him here and via email, I haven't heard back from him in a while. Again, not to get into the deep weeds, he pocketed the money and the cards. If you see these, please let me know.

I guess this experience will teach me to not deal with someone I don't know that well.

************** UPDATE **************
Zach came through and sent my cards to me.

That sucks Kendall.
I had one of the cards he won for me go "missing" as well. The seller didn't ship to Canada so he agreed to bid on the card for me. After the auction ended I emailed him to make sure he had won the card (for me). He replied that I did win the auction but that he got a friend to bid on the card for me for some reason (he couldn't get to a computer or something). After a month or so went by I emailed him to see if the card was coming my way. When I heard back from him he claimed he still didn't have the card in hand as he couldn't get his "friend" to send him the card. In the end he did refund me the money for it though although I didn't end up getting a card I wanted.

That sucks, I'm just going to play devils advocate for a second here but are you sure they are "stolen"?

I checked his profile and his Last Activity: 09-08-2011 09:53 AM

That was certainly a while ago. He used to post quite a bit. Hopefully nothing happened to him? Sometimes you just never know, but it could be that they aren't stolen at all, rather something else may have happened.

Perhaps someone here knows him a little better?

Nothing wrong with playing devils advocate... however, my last email from him was on 09-24.

That sucks, sorry it happened to you. It looks like there has been quite a few buyers and traders who got burned by this guy.

There have been a few complaints about him of late so take that fwiw.

Kendall -- anytime you need help from the States, I'm available.

Sorry to hear about these problems guys, I hope everything works out for everyone. Dealing with people through the internet can be so hard as it can be impossible to tell what is really going on with someone on the other end. For the one guy in the older thread, I don't understand why anyone would send a paypal gift to someone. I understand that it takes out the fees for the seller, but why not just add on an additional few dollars to cover the fees and send it regularly so both parties are covered? Thats a head scratcher. Good luck to everyone!

One reason is that :

I believe if I have an existing Paypal balance in my account and I send money to a Board Member (not through Ebay), Pay[pal does not cover my purchase not do they cover me for receiving damaged merchandise.
I have had this happen twice - with no coverage from Paypal. And I talked, coerced, raised my voice and tried going higher up - to no avail.
Did not matter that I have over 5k Paypal transactions - they said they would not cover it. Now this is between two parties within the US - not sure on other situations. yes - you could empty your Paypal account and use a CC, but I do not want everything showing up on my CC.

I personally use Paypal Gift VERY often - but only with traders I have a personal relationship with - or in a few cases ones that have been around the hobby as long as I have. While the fees seem minimal - they get meaningful when you start looking at hundreds of $$ sent from Canada to me at $.30 transaction fee + 3.9% for cross border transaction fees.

It all comes down to knowing whom you are dealing with.
When a 100+ feedback trader goes bad - not much you can do, or see it coming. When you trust a low feedback seller - you are asking to be scammed at some point in time.

What a scum either way how are u supposed to know what happend to him or not he took your money and cards and is gone probably wont come back..

That's odd, I had the same situation with TheBostonKid, but in reverse....

He paid me for a custom card, a few actually, a whole sets worth. He sent 70 dollars paypal to me, and I got the cards ready, printed, and just needed the autos to cut up and insert. He never got around to sending them and disappeared right after, so I'm +70 dollars AND the customs.

He was also last seen on his blog (http://www.blogtv.com/people/thebostonkid) in May.

was about to say he was a bad dude, but the last post above made my head scratch
