UD Ultimate checklist up

The one sub-set that may be awesome is the Ult. Rookieis Patch Variations #/25. Check out the size of that swatch window.:eek: Mike

*edit* just looked a little closer at the scan of the Dawes and I think they are using a pic for the Auto Shield variation. Never mind.....
 
I don't see a single Zetterberg autograph on there. On the one hand it gives me a bit of a break but on the other hand it is telling me that UD is getting sick and tired of him not having his sigs in on time. I'm not sure how much of this I will do yet- I may wait until the Cup hits.

Good luck on pulling a Gagne Shield Chris. No Carter or Richards in this product. Thanks UD for saving more of my money this year.

Only bright spot is no Khabibulins to chase after, which means more ca$h for the "REAL" Ultimate....ITG !!!!!!
 
Anybody else think UD should move Ultimate to a mid-year or early season release if they plan to do The Cup every year at the end of the season? In Baseball they came out with Premier as an early season release and it was a huge success and sold out. Maybe the Hockey guys can do the same..... Mike

Mike I agree. However I think the issue on higher end brands is the autographs. Since they are always hard signed, they wait until end of the year to make sure they have most of them in hand. If they could find a way to make it possible, I think a mid-season release would be perfect. It's always the same. The really low end stuff early, mid-end stuff in between and we get swamped with high end stuff after hockey's over and most of us are golfing...

I agree, except Premier was all stickers and was a "new" configuration. Each box or pack has a Patch or Two, A couple of Autos w/Duals Triples, etc.. , a few base/RC and a couple of GU. It was about $250-$275 a pack and sold out. They also included some great Vintage GU stuff. and some HUGE hits. I guess my point was it makes no sense releasing Ultimate and the Cup back-to-back. This causes people to pick one instead of buying both. I have heard time and time again, "....I'll wait for The Cup". Just a thought.... Mike

I'm not too impressed with the designs this year, I'm not a fan of the ultimate signatures or the larger ultimate patches. looks to me like they're going to do one bog patch but it's covered up. I wonder if they're doing that to stop people from switching patches on the cards?
 
Spotted the first error in Ultimate.:)

In the Ultimate Achievements Autograph Subset they claim Jean Beliveau owns the NHL record with 10 Stanley Cups. Not so.

It is actually another Les Habitant, Henri "The Pocket Rocket" Richard with 11.;)

Karvin, you need some help in your hockey department over there buddy?:p

Other than that, heckuva nice-looking product, great design, maybe their best yet and I said the same thing about this year's SPA. I am excited to see it live! Good work UD!
 
I like some of the designs, but there are entirely too many Ward and Staal cards!!!! That Ward Achievement auto /15 will be a bear!

Wow. One card for me to chase, if that. Nice to see the number of Tanguay auto's back to where it should be, although I wish there was some higher end Nagy stuff to chase.
 
A little to hit and miss for me with the cost involved. It has that Sweet Shot smell, either a hit or a kick in the junk.
At least the rookies from Ultimate tend to hold value.
I'm quite sure I can get someone to kick me in the junk for free, so why pay UD close to $100 for the same thing.

Mike. You won't get an argument from me on the release date. If they can swing it, they should. It'd be much better for the overall numbers I think and it would make the mid-year release something to look forward to. I always find there's a lull at mid-season
