and already the market is being killed on ComC.

Before yesterday, a Helley OPC RC's best price on ComC was around 2 bucks, hit for 80 cents last night.

Foils are starting to pop up around the 50 cent mark, inevitably will drop to around 30 cents like they are for S1.

Anyone else seeing big price drops?

Just picked up the foil Craig Anderson. I can't believe that some people have five copies of a foil card.

I am just happy to have the card for my collection, without accumulating a case plus worth of base.

Eichel's Young Guns has dropped a good $20-$30.

I've been waiting for the S2 epacks to finish my Young Guns set. It looks like I made the right call after seeing what happened with S1.

i think this time around with S2 (after seeing S1) everyone will wait for the cards to fall to the bottom - also between free ePacks I think some users may just try to trade for the foils they need - thats how I got my Marleau MVP green - trade free ePack base for the 1 green I need

Or save the effort and just spend 50 cents to get the Marleau MVP Green on COMC. It's sad seeing how far the prices fall with release of ePacks.
I'll be curious to see if Series 1 Young Guns creep up with the end of those ePacks or whether the damage is irreversible.

I was thinking the samething...hooe so as its getting pretty bad and not worth cracking wax at all.

I think you can actually buy the full set of series 2 young guns on COMC separately for less than the price of a box... pretty messed up if you think about that for a second. And it's only been 2 days lmao..

yeah fair enough - i can basically wait for the bottom and grab it at 30 cents if i really wanted to once the bottom comes out - but as a collector and trader - i rather make a few trade offers and see what sticks - i took 5 mins and threw out 3-4 offers - and now i have 2 greens (2 accepted offers so 1 PC and 1 trader) and a whack less of the free base cards

the easy thing is to buy the card - but sometimes the chase aspect is the most fun:dance:

e-packs will be the death of Series 1 and 2

Upper Deck: 1,000,000

Hobby Shops and people who paid good money for some of these cards that are now worth a fraction of what they were just a month ago: 0

People who collect will also score seeing as how prices are in the toilet.

Good for Upper Deck, though. The addicts who can't control the urge to bust ePacks are putting UD well into the black since selling imaginary cards has to come with minimal overhead. These same people are absolutely KILLING the value of the cards they're trying to pull at the exact same time. Dare I coin the term "committing hobbycide"? Nah, better not.

I think that epacks are very dangerous....

I be that many thinks in yhis way, -just one more! breaks 3 epacks, -juuust one mooore epack! breaks 15 epacks, -juuuuust ONE moooore epack!!!, breaks 1 epack box, and so on...until you have 10.000-100.000 in loan debts then.....

It's too easy to breaking epacks and the pattern is exactly same for addicts of online poker/casino, or buying digital items to their online farm or home which was a HUGE problem for some years ago here in sweden) as example.

"Just one more time" almost always leads to something very bad in the end for mostly....

Pretty strange that many kiddies of this todays wants everything digital instead of the actual physical thins so you can touch or play with it....

Sure that the time has changed into something which we never was able to imagine about it for just 10 years ago.....

Continuing to watch Jets cards, Helley's OPC RC is now down to 40 cents. And I thought I bought in at the right time at 80...

McDavid's OPC RC has taken a HUGE hit. Was $20 before the S2 release. Today it's below 10 bucks.

I'd hate to be in the price guide biz right now, because there will be backlash.

I play a free to play mmorpg, well I used to. They offered packs that you could buy, which contained items worth a lot in game, but the chances to get them were less then 1% (0.05% I think it was). People knew this but still went ahead and bought them.
Some people stopped at like $10. Some people went over board. People in that game have openly admitted to spending $40,000 on the game(I have heard of more, but 40K seems to be the average for the "high rollers"). As soon as I heard about epacks I thought about this game. It is their money, they can do as they wish, but for me, no chance in hell.

Difference is that an epack can be converted to a physical good, and sold as well. Not so much with gaming.

No, there won't. As a service to provide checklists, they're passable. As a source of accurate pricing information? Laughable.

Beckett and similar enterprises have been increasingly irrelevant for the last several years.

I understand that. It was more of the " -just one more! breaks 3 epacks, -juuust one mooore epack! breaks 15 epacks, -juuuuust ONE moooore epack!!!"
that Frendo was talking about. Having them available like this its more addicting I guess you can say. I think it makes it harder for the person to see how much they are actually spending. Not to mention you have to buy the virtual card first, then spend money again to gain a physical copy of it.

Didn't beckett change the price of a card they listed because people were mad that it wasn't high enough?
I can't remember the last time I bought a beckett or last time I used their online services. I do know now that they charge for vintage cards and modern cards as separate services. For someone whose collection ranges from the 60s to recent years, buying 2 different services to get pricing (insurance reasons only) for them is ridiculous. I think they even charge for their organizer option now as well.... I could be wrong.
