i've heard ALOT of people complain about this card; how it's not exciting or lacking true star power, how it only has 1 top 10 guy on the card, etc. is it worth the $50 ppv charge? it's questionnable but for me personally, i am interested in 3 fights:

condit vs macdonald
barry vs crocop
liddell vs franklin

out of those 3, would be looking forward to the barry fight the most.

i'm taking barry and liddell..thoughts?

sidenote: shogun rua just had another knee surgery - supposedly he hurt his knee during his title fight with machida and will take up to 5 weeks to rehab. his fight with rashad is still on schedule.
 
There may not be a ton of "star power" on this card but anyone that thinks this card is a dud is crazy. I'm looking forward to the three fights that you are, as well as the Thiago vs. Kampmann fight. It's said a lot but Joe Silva must have something against Paulo Thiago. His fights since coming to the UFC: Koscheck, Fitch, Volkmann, and Swick, not an easy fight in there, and now he gets another top 10 guy, his fourth in five fights. Rumor has it if he beats Kampmann he'll face the loser of the Alves vs. Fitch match. I mean throw this guy a softball please.

I am also really looking forward to the Spike TV fights. The Evan Dunham vs. Tyson Griffin fight is going to be awesome. I was originally choked that this fight wasn't on the main card. And while I still believe that this should be on the main card over Rothwell vs. Yvel I understand why they put this fight on Spike because it will be non-stop action.
 
sometimes the unexpected happens when it's least expected...that is what i am expecting with this card.

UHH do some research first! fastest sell out dont mean squat when every person is buying multiple tickets for resale

ppl were buying bunches of tickets HOPING to resell them at a profit. now ppl cant even get rid of them at cost.

Well boo hoo to the people that are trying to make a buck, I'll sit back and enjoy watching what will be an exciting card, and the people that complain can continue to do so.

This is the issue with dealing directly with the municipality as opposed to the province. The only way the UFC would come back would be if they struck a deal with the province of British Columbia.

This seems as though it would be the same situation in Toronto. I'm pretty sure there is a mayoral candidate running on bringing in the UFC and that revenue. Well if high insurance premiums were to occur it would seem unlikely to allow an event unless through the province.

I wish Ontario would realize the money that would come in would be a good thing and legalize MMA already. I want to see GSP and Koscheck fight at the the Rogers Centre not in Pitt. Which are the two possibilities for that fight.
 
Gotta love that every pub in town shows the fights for free! I am gonna try to time it so I only have to see the last two fights because the rest don't interest me at all. lets hope the Vancouver folk don't start crazy riots or anything like that. Have fun guys! :beer:
