UFC 92: The Ultimate 2008 Predictions!

With regards to the Rampage fight, Yves Lavigne had him around the waist and was trying to get him off, but he threw those last two puches anyway. In my opinion that was really classless. To me that's the same thing as what Babalu did to David Heath (keep the choke on and put him to sleep). The only difference is that Babalu lost a quarter of his purse and was fired from the UFC, and none of that will happen to Rampage because he's Rampage.

And I don't think the Mir/Nog fight was ended too early. When Nog tried to get up he was weak, and wobbly and could barely get up. I think that was a fair stoppage.

The Kongo fight was stopped about four bloody elbows too late.

Bizzare PPV

Was I the only one that thought the ref's were lost out there?
Jackson knocked Silva out no question but the ref waited for Jackson to get another shot in after Silva was out which resulted in 3 more punches landing. Silva was out and you could see that before he hit the mat. The Evans/Griffin fight also should have been stopped soon, when someone's arms are no longer under there control they are done. It may look like Forest was trying to tap but at that point he was more rubbier then Gubby. Kongo's fight also should have been stopped earlier.

Now the Mir/ Nog fight ended to soon. Go back and watch Mir's fury that ended the fight. None of those shots landed. Do not get me wrong here Mir was winning the fight and looked great doing it. Nog was also going down alittle easy cause he wanted Mir on the mat. Mir wanted nothing to do with going down on the mat with him. Nog has been in how many fights that he takes a beating then beats them in the later rounds when the got nothing left. Also the CB Dollaway/Massenzio fight ended to quickly. CB was tiring from throwing everything he had. He had Massenzio down but Massenzio was still guarding his ears and temples.

Great outings by Mir, Rampage, and Rashad

Sweet even though my picks were off the people I WANTED to win Rashad, Rampage, Mir, and Hamill, all won.

For Rampage the difference is training and being able to pace a match instead of wildly throwing and engaging without a game plan. Ever since coming to the UFC he is way more disciplined that he used to be and I think that is the biggest X factor in his game. If he can get his head screwed on straight I think he is a near unstoppable force at LHW.

I have alot of respect for Mir, and not only because I am following a very similar training routine as he is. As much as I also like Nog, I just wanted to see Mir get a shot at Brock.

As for Forrest I cannot stand that seemingly unintelligent red neck (which is really niced up from what I really want to say). I am always glad to watch him lose to anyone. I like how he jumped off that mat like he was cheated, even though he clearly tapped, and was beat. This guy has no class, he whines and cries (literally) more than anyone I can ever think of.

The interviews that I have seen of Forrest he's always come off as thoughtful and intelligent. I like Forrest; some of it probably has to do with the fact that he has a Poli Sci degree, and that's my thing too. In the post fight interview he admitted that Rashad had beaten him, and congratulated him. I don't know where the classlessness was in that. But I am glad that Rashad won. I was the only one cheering for him at the party I was at.
