Effective March 3, they will hold the beginning of a four man tournament to crown the first ever UFC Flyweight Champion.

The first two fights will pit consensus top flyweight Ian McCall fight Demetrious Johnson, and Joseph Benevidez fight Yasuhiro Uru****ani.

This is awesome, I can hardly wait. "Uncle Creepy" in the UFC, it's about time.

So with all of the additions of the new weight classes are we instore for more UFC event frequencys like UFC 140, 141, 142, etc or will there be more fight nights? Something has to give considering all of the new fighters being added to the mix. Or will the UFC just make the main events bigger and longer by taking out the prelims and making them all part of the entire card on ppv.

I believe they are planning on running around 30-35 UFC fight cards. Through March there are only four PPV's scheduled, however, in that time frame there will also be 1 FOX card, 2 FX cards, and 1 Fuel card. So that would put them on pace for 16 PPV's and 32 fight cards in total. Now we have to include 8 Strikeforce shows on Showtime.

I think we'll be looking at 15-18 PPV's in total, the UFC knows that they've pretty much found the ceiling on the number of PPV's that they can put on in a year.

I am really happy that they have this deal with the FOX family of networks because they have an outlet to show more events on television which long term is going to be a good thing in my opinion.
