This is an absolutely stacked card. Best one they've put on Fox thus far.

Note that the Facebook fights are scheduled to start at around 4:00 P.M. EST, the FX fights will start at 5:00 P.M. EST, and the Main Card on big Fox is set to go off at 8:00 P.M. EST.

Main Card (on Fox):
Benson Henderson (17-2; #1 Lightweight) vs. Nate Diaz (16-7; #5 Lightweight)
Mauricio “Shogun” Rua (21-6; #4 Light Heavyweight) vs. Alexander Gustafsson (14-1; #7 Light Heavyweight)
Rory MacDonald (13-1) vs. BJ Penn (16-8-2)
Mike Swick (15-4) vs. Matt Brown (15-11)

Preliminary Card (on FX):
Michael Chiesa (8-0) vs. Marcus LeVesseur (22-6)
Yves Edwards (41-18-1) vs. Jeremy Stephens (20-8)
Raphael Assuncao (18-4; #9 Bantamweight) vs. Mike Easton (13-1)
Ramsey Nijem (6-2) vs. Joe Proctor (8-1)
Daron Cruikshank (11-2) vs. Henry Martinez (9-2)
Dennis Siver (20-8; #6 Featherweight) vs. Nam Phan (18-10)

Preliminary Card (on Facebook):
Scott Jorgensen (13-6; #7 Bantamweight) vs. John Albert (7-3)
Tim Means (18-3-1) vs. Abel Trujillo (9-4)

Chiesa/LeVesseur is off. Chiesa withdrew due to illness.

Surprisingly, Means/Trujillo moved up to FX, and not Jorgensen vs. Albert, which I thought would given both of their history of exciting fights + Albert fighting in his home state. That isn't to say Means isn't deserving or anything. Just surprising.

There's a great interview floating around with Tim Means discussing his personal problems between his initial decline in 2004 and comeback in 2009. Unfortunately, I can't remember which site it was on (other sites have picked it up since then) to listen/read about.

It took Nate Diaz three attempts to make weight but he finally hit the 155 mark. He's lucky they don't have the boxing rule of having to make weight on the first attempt for a title fight.

Two other fighter, Martinez/Assuncao missed weight.

Benson Henderson (154.6) vs. Nate Diaz (*155)
Alexander Gustafsson (205.4) vs. Mauricio Rua (205)
Rory MacDonald (170.2) vs. B.J. Penn (168.2)
Mike Swick (170) vs. Matt Brown (170.2)
Yves Edwards (155) vs. Jeremy Stephens (155.8)
Mike Easton (135) vs. Raphael Assuncao (136.4)
Ramsey Nijem (155.4) vs. Joe Proctor (154.6)
Daron Cruickshank (155) vs. Henry Martinez (*158.8)
Marcus LeVesseur (155.4) vs. Abel Trujillo (155.4)
Dennis Siver (146) vs. Nam Phan (145.4)
Scott Jorgensen (135.2) vs. John Albert (136)

Rory certainly isn't going to win very many fans with yhe showboating and lack of respect for a veteran like Penn, but I doubt he really cares about winning fans over. He just wants to win in the ring. As he climbs the ladder in competition someone more in his class is going to make him pay for the ring antics.

The Bonuses were $65K: Fight of the Night: Scott Jorgensen/John Albert; Submission of the Night: Scott Jorgensen; Knockout of the Night: Yves Edwards.

Personally I would've rather seen Cruickshank win knockout of the night for his vicious walkaway head kick KO.

Henderson made Nate Diaz look like a rank amateur tonight. Bendo really is that good.

Alexander Gustafsson looked really good but not great. Rory MacDonald looked like the stud most people think he is. He is already a monster, he needs a top-5 challenger right quick. I loved the way he called out Carlos Condit after the fight.

Lots of great fights tonight. A really enjoyable night of fights all-around.

If Chael Sonnen has proven anything it's that if you can cultivate either fan appreciation or fan derision you can make a lot of money. But unlike Chael, Rory is a truly elite fighter.

Rory looks to be an elite fighter but he is still fairly young and started very early. His fight card so far has some good names but aside from Condit and Diaz (and Penn who was totally outmatched and should be fighting at 155) he has fought a fairly light card. As was said about Silva, Rory should be fighting up a weight class and not fighting at 170. He is a constant 200 pounder fighting at 170, I don't think anyone thought Penn really stood a chance against Rory. I am not a fan of the showboating at all, just irks me kinda like the NHL fighters who showboat (like Asham although that was pretty out of character for Asham). Especially when you are young and fighting a legend like Penn who has earned his respect in the game. I don't understand why Penn keeps taking these fights against guys clearly out of his class but to each his own, it's his choice.

Matt Brown's KO of Swick was pretty vicious, could have been up there for KO of the night.

Gustafson is a beast, and showed some new tricks to his game I thought. He made Shogun look bad for most of the fight, but he did absorb some nasty punches right to the chin and it didn't seem to slow him down. Would like to see him fight Jon Jones.

Agree on Henderson, he made Diaz look really bad. When Diaz was able to get a knee bar or ankle lock, Henderson didn't even seem phased and turned it around on him in a hurry. Diaz absorbed a lot of punishment and Henderson rocked him a few times. Total domination by Henderson.

The biggest non-knockout total domination fight I thought was Siver over Pham. Siver just suffocated Pham and pounded the hell out of him, that was brutal to watch.

Abel Trujillo also looked impressive IMO, that kid is a beast and could be something special in the next year or two.

A bit surprised Penn, Shogun, Pham, and Diaz weren't able to be finished and went the distance, they all showed some heart. I think Penn needs to stay retired, he cannot compete with these guys at 170 anymore.

The true highlight was Diaz trying to taunt Henderson after basically being torn apart for five rounds. That whole family needs a lesson in class.

I thought it was funny, in the fourth I believe, when Nate did the whole through your arms out stick your chin out fight me thing and Bendo proceeded to drop him with a big punch. Very fitting.

Heh, Henderson is TOO easy to like. Diaz turds are complete opposite of the spectrum. I'd not have even wanted to shake the guy's hand after that.

I'm with you on Benson, but don't get it twisted, there are a lot of people that are extremely turned off by his in your face Christianity.

Makes sense. That type of thing isn't my cup of tea either but there is just something about him. He is like a non-annoying Tebow to me - only with talent :whatthehell:
