The UFC returns to Japan on Saturday night with a card littered to placate the Pride never die fan base. Not a whole lot in interesting, meaningful fights. But some fights that could bring some violence, so I'm in.

Main Bouts (on Fuel TV):
Wanderlei Silva (34-12-1) vs. Brian Stann (12-5; #9 Middleweight)
Mark Hunt (8-7) vs. Stefan Struve (25-5)
Takanori Gomi (34-8) vs. Diego Sanchez (23-5)
Yushin Okami (28-7; #7 Middleweight) vs. Hector Lombard (32-3-1-1)
Mizuto Hirota (14-5-1) vs. Rani Yahya (17-7)
Dong Hyun Kim (16-2-1) vs. Siyar Bahadurzada (24-4-1)

Preliminary Bouts (on Facebook):
Riki Fukuda (19-6) vs. Brad Tavares (9-1)
Takeya Mizugaki (16-7-2) vs. Bryan Caraway (17-5)
Cristiano Marcello (13-4) vs. Kazuki Tokudome (11-3-1)
Alex Caceres (8-5) vs. Kyung Ho Kang (11-6)
Marcelo Guimaraes (18-0-1) vs. Hyun Gyu Lim (10-3-1)

UFC on Fuel TV 8 Start Times:
Preliminary Bouts: 7:40 pm ET / 4:40 pm PT
Main Card on Fuel TV: 10 pm ET / 7 pm PT

Sportsnet.ca is will be broadcasting the prelim fights too.

Man, this whole card top to bottom is going to be great.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Mark Hunt the shortest heavyweight in the division? I can see him going old school and relying on body shots against Struve.

I can't wait to see Mizuto Hirota's UFC debut. He looked good, but showed up to the weigh-ins jet lagged and was pretty out of it the next night against Pat Healy in July. He fell apart in the last half of the fight. Fighting at home with a full training camp at more of a natural weight class for him could be bad news for Yahya.

The Hunt/Struve fight is either going to end via a Hunt KO, or a Struve Submission; and I think both conclusions have an equal chance of happening.

Yeah Struve needs to learn to tuck his chin better and use his reach. Hunt will eat a shot or two to get inside so it could be an ugly night for Struve if he doesnt take it to the ground,

Only Diego Sanchez didn't make weight. He is surrendering 20% of his purse.

Wanderlei Silva (204) vs. Brian Stann (206)
Mark Hunt (266) vs. Stefan Struve (260)
Takanori Gomi (156) vs. Diego Sanchez (*158)
Yushin Okami (185) vs. Hector Lombard (186)
Mizuto Hirota (146) vs. Rani Yahya (146)
Dong Hyun Kim (171) vs. Siyar Bahadurzada (171)
Riki Fukuda (186) vs. Brad Tavares (185)
Takeya Mizugaki (136) vs. Bryan Caraway (135)
Cristiano Marcello (156) vs. Kazuki Tokudome (155)
Alex Caceres (136) vs. Kyung Ho Kang (135)
Marcelo Guimaraes (171) vs. Hyun Gyu Lim (171)

Extremely impressive performance from 'Stun Gun' Kim. I think he is really underrated, and would love to see him get a top-10 challenger in his next fight. Cool to see some showmanship come out in the fight. Even through up the Mayhem Miller peace sign towards the end of the fight.

I never thought I'd see another armless armbar attempt. That was just awful by Struve. Hunt is giving up his back on the ground, I don't know why Struve doesn't just go for the Million Dollar Dream to get the submission victory.

who's judging? cecil peoples?
