UFC on Fuel TV 8: Stann vs. Silva - March 2nd

I think this roughly sums up the reaction of the group I was watching with tonight (with regards to the last two fights).

According to MMADecisions every media critic scored the fight for Gomi. I had it 30-27, 29-28 at worst for Gomi, at worst.

If you had it 30-27 then you should be fired on the spot. I had it 29-28 Gomi but the last round was pretty close. Diego needs to go balls out and let his hads go or he is going no where. I have never liked the guy but he has the tools to go pretty far if he would just let his hands go.

I also think you have a man crush on Gracia as you always want to talk about him. J/K :)

Loved the main event.......Love watching Wandi fight. This guy has so much heart you cannot help but cheer for the guy.

The first round was close, but I don't consider getting a fighter down, and doing little to nothing worthy of much. According to Fight Metric Gomi landed more shots in every round. And with his takedown defense largely controlled where the fight took place. Seems pretty cut and dry.

Just be happy. If Diego gets one more gift decision he may overtake your boy for the internet meme for underserved victories .

Don't know if you guys seen the X-Ray, but here is what Mark Hunt's fists can do one's jaw, lol:

I think Struve will be on the mend for awhile to say the least.

whole whack of split decisions, I was onboard with most of the winners though, outside of Gomi lozing (who looked fantastic by the way).

I'm glad Caceres won too despite being on his back a lot as he was clearly the aggressor. If that match was done in North America, I suspect Ho Kang would have won for the takedowns despite not going a whole lot from the top (ie. Torres/D. Johnson and Mein/Woodley).

Yahya was also very impressive but I wasn't expecting much after his previous UFC fightd

When did Diego get his last "gift" decision? This fight could have went either way so I'd hardly call it a gift. I would think that Diego is close to getting his walking papers. He has looked terrible since BJ knocked the crap out of him. Now that he calls himself the "dream" he has turned into a slow moving joke. If he lets his hands go he could be amongst the elite but for some reason he now stands back. He should fight every fight like the Clay Guida fight. And Garcia rules and you know it.

His last win before the Gomi fight against Martin Kampann, he was outstruck, and unsuccessful on all 12 of his takedown attempts in the first two rounds, did comeback to control the third. A seemingly clearcut 29-28 Kampmann victory. All three judges gave it 29-28 to Diego though.

With regards to his fight with Gomi, I don't think it "could haveone either way, it seems really clear that he lost the last two rounds, if that's the case and he earns the decision that seemslike a gift decision.
