Not so sure about blind but more uneducated. If you look at some of the judges that are always on the bad side of decision making, like

-Adelaide Byrd
-Patricia Morse Jarman
-Eugenia Williams
-Glenn Trowbridge to a lesser extent

(I can't speak for Cecil Peoples because as a part-time MMA ref, he should know better by this point...but the UFC doesn't seem to have picked him up lately)

...it seems to be they base their whole judging style on what they've been taught about boxing. Leonard Garcia fights a style that a boxing judge would latch onto - Tons of aggressive looking strikes thrown causing his opponent to backpedal and rethink his game plan. None of them land, but with Garcia's loud battle cries that put a Tae Kwon Do White Belt to Shame, it always looks fairly effective, especially to someone that doesn't have multiple angles to go off of and is sitting fairly low.

What does this mean? MMA in general needs to work on a better training program for all potential judges, since the system right now obviously isn't working. You rarely see a bad judgment call out of people that have been MMA refs and things in the past (I'm going to use Larry Landless as a good example -- Baroni/Tanner I aside) and they always seem to come from boxing judges.
