Ultimate Debut Patches - Road to 1000

So I don't post much anymore and like others my desire to collect is waning. I stopped collecting Calgary Cup rookies awhile back and for the first time since 2004-05 I didn't crack a case of something with Young Guns in it. I stopped at Series 2 this year.

Some may know, and others perhaps not, but I collected the Ultimate Debut Patch sets from 2005-06 to 2014-15 (minus 2012-13 as they were hard to find good patches so I didn't bother). I did post most of the ones I have on instagram but I have decided to undertake a project that may inspire me to keep collecting. At least for awhile. I am puttering away on some of the more recent sets but I'm cheap now, and try and pick up ones that are also cheap.

THE QUEST FOR 1000 DEBUT PATCHES HAS BEGUN.

I'm not a huge fan of the auto'd version as the autos are terrible on most and the patches are tiny. But I pick ones when I see them cheap and still grab nice patches from older sets.

2014-15 Colin Smith Debut Patch (to finish the set)

2014-15 Ultimate Debut Patch Johnny Gaudreau - I actually needed this one for the set and I'm still missing Colin Smith to finish

Those are probably a little out of the budget for this project. But appreciate the post

These are the first 2 I've picked up from this year as I never planned on doing any of the auto'd sets as some of the prices are ridiculous for the better ones. And with terrible autos to boot.

2008-09 Ultimate debut patch Brandon Sutter. This is likely my second favorite year for this set. I actually finished 2 sets and got halfway on collecting all the ones numbered 50/50. I also have 30 of the 50 Patric Hornqvist patches

Really nice pickups. I admire your patch quest and I'm really impressed by this: I also have 30 of the 50 Patric Hornqvist patches . I have a patch quest akin to this so I relate. Nice stuff.

I actually don't mind the look of these card but I would have really like them with no Auto and a patch that was twice as big. I slowly putter away on this set but likely another I will never finish. Sitting at 55.3% completion

Another set I never set out to do but after picking up a I find myuself sitting at 65.2% complete. Sadly it's mainly the better ones that I'm missing. Some day I will likely try and finish as I might be too close not too.

MILESTONE POST #800

So back in the day when I was hardcore collecting some of these sets if I saw nice ones I grabbed them. And for whatever reason Dan Tyrell had a lot of nice patches. This year they are numbered to 35 and I now have 9 of them and they are all beauties. I really like this design and to me they look so much better than the terrible autographs the players have. This year I also got halfway collecting the cars numbered #35/35 but I haven't seen any in a long time.

2019-20 Debut Threads Patch Auto Victor Olofsson

Another set I stayed away from as the prices of the better players is/was crazy. This was one of them back when it was released but picked this up super cheap off ebay. Sitting at 21.3% completion for this year and another set that will never be finished.

Picked this one up off ebay for super cheap. Took me 10 years to get the Gaudreau for my set and now I have picked up a second one in a month. Also numbered #28/100. Thought it was interesting to pick up 2 cards from the same set in the same week both with same number
