Well it's that time of year again and I just received the latest addition to the set:

And here is the lastest addition:

I have to be honest, I REALLY don't like the new decades concept. I didn't like it in Series 1 and I like it even less in Series 2. I think that Upper Deck really dropped the ball by putting Hull on the Painting twice in a row, and I cannot believe how many of the same players were repeated in the base set in Series 1 and 2. There were still sooo many players UD could have done to continue the single player concept. On top of all that why in Series 1 is everything hand numbered, as it should be, and then in Series 2 UD just decided meh, let's not?
This new concept has really impacted my enjoyment in continuing to build this set and has even made me start to think about the possibility of parting with it. On the one hand this is almost certainly the only full set in existence at this time, but these painting headers are really expensive, and very tough to find, and that's a lot of trouble for a set that I no longer love. Compounding this problem is that I know we have at least 2 more Decades sets to look forward to.

Any thoughts, comments and/or opinions would be much appreciated.

Also, huge thank you to triggz79 for picking up the Hull/Mikita for me while I was away on vacation !

that is very impressive, I agree, they should have kept the single player theme going. I would've thought Roy would be next. Or Mario

wow what an unreal set so far. I completely agree with you though. Hand numbered looks so much better and I hate when they have doubles of the same player in a set.

I kinda woulda liked single player concept autos to continue as well.

none the less great looking set :)

This is a disgrace and poor planning on UDs part.

Gawd, I'll take them off your hands for $150, just so you can recoup something from this abomination.

As a side - I like it so I would keep it. I think they are great, unique and rare; however, if your heart isn't in it then best to move on and start letting them go.

Thats one of the nicest sets all together I've seen in a while. Can't imagine the time looking and the money you put towards those cards, thanks for sharing.

nice pick ups

and agree... did you even notice one player has the same picture for both UD1 and UD2?

Keep going! That is a great set there. But if you have no love for it, move on to the next one.... is there anything you have in mind that you might want to go after next?

Beauty Sean! Love the set and I'm with you - I'm not loving the multi-player decades idea at all, especially when they have the same guy more than once! I certainly hope Hull isn't on the next one too!!!
