NOW HOW DOES TWO DIFFERENT MANUFACTURERS USE THE SAME PHOTO FOR THEIR CARDS, AND ARE YOU SERIOUS THAT THEY CAN'T FIND ANOTHER PHOTO TO USE??

This must be a conspiracy. Maybe they are actually the same company! Or maybe they aren't even companies at all. Wow, someone should look into this!

Maybe Pacific really didn't go under LOL

I really though they had their own photographers with the money they make...
really disappointed. I could use the same pictures from the web for a really cheap fee.

That could easily go viral - #BlameKarvin

"I pulled 3 base cards in my tin of the Cup" #BlameKarvin
"My 1987 Topps baseball box had only 9 Barry Bonds RCs" #BlameKarvin
"Battlefield Earth" #BlameKarvin

LOVE IT!

I might start using it on my Tweets just for fun.

BTW, I'm gomazz on Twitter and have been tweeting lately!

EDIT: Haha I just used the blamekarvin hashtag in a tweet.

If I'm not mistaken, both UD and Panini have access to Getty Images, the well known site for high res photos. If there aren't many very good shots of a certain player (Say, one who has only been in a few games) then it's not surprising that two companies used the same photo. Nothing to be bothered over. Certainly not CAPS LOCK WORTHY.

Awesome. It's begun. I just #BlameKarvin'd not following you previously...that's 2. Now we only need a million more for it to trend

Nice! thanks for following me! I just subscribed to you too #blamekarvin

Anyone actually check this out? Over at Getty Images I "priced out" an image of 2 nhl players Jared Spurgeon and Crosby and the "Trading cards - exclusive use" was $196 and "Trading cards - non-exclusive use" was $181. So...

Think about the exclusive vs. non-exclusive use across an entire product run and you can see why each company would pick non-exclusive. Image rights are a huge cost for each product. Perhaps now everyone will understand why photos are repeated across multiple products.

Same photos are slightly annoying, however it could be worse. At least they don't photoshop photos like Topps does for the baseball product.

Topps took the 2011 Topps Derrek Lee and photoshopped an Orioles Jersey on him for Chrome.
