Upper Deck vs Panini/Topps Product Delays

I'm pretty much a hockey only collector so I was curious to ask people who buy other sports, how are you finding the product delays? Are Panini and Topps just as backed up as Upper Deck or are we getting the worst of it as hockey collectors?

One of the reasons I ask is I stopped by Walmart yesterday and checked out the card section. They were well stocked, half an aisle full of cards, but not a single Upper Deck product. Tons of Topps and Panini in baseball and basketball. The only hockey was 2021-22 Topps Stickers and Leaf ProSet blasters.
I'm used to seeing lots of baseball and basketball on shelves here in Canada but usually only the hockey has been all picked over. It was weird to see so many options for others sports but pretty much nothing for NHL.

I was wondering the same thing.

From what I see, Panini and Topps are getting their products out with some regularity albeit delayed, but UD can't get anything out.

Everyone's facing the same dilemmas, but it seems like Topps and Panini aren't having as difficult a time as UD. Same here, all of the card sections are FULL of Topps and Panini cards but very little by way if UD. Almost makes me wonder if UD is being strong armed out of printing options by the more wealthy card companies...ALMOST.

Whatever the reason, YES, hockey card collectors are getting the short end of the stick.

Everything is pretty backed up, it’s not just hockey. The football season just ended and the 2020 rookie crop doesn’t even have a Prizm card yet. The 2021-22 basketball season is half over and Panini JUST got 2020-21 Flawless out recently. Most of the product we’re seeing on our retail shelves up here are last years cards and since retail can’t be instantly flipped for insane money like it was last year the scalpers are leaving it alone so it’s just sitting there. And on top of that it’s overpriced as hell. I’d actually enjoy breaking the stuff I’m seeing at Walmart like Mosaic basketball but I see the price tags and just end up putting it back.
