I normally can figure this out on my own, but this one I can't

I have a 1986 Kraft Drawings Patrick Roy RC Graded PSA 9 - when looking at sales on eBay, there are nothing graded, just raw from $75-$90 USD and someone has a PSA 10 for $1300 USD - which probably wishful thinking more than anything else.

I have not given much thought about what I want to truly do with the card. Obviously, if I got an offer I can't say no to, I'd move it in a sale or trade; but I am strictly looking to hab fans to give me perspective on this one.

Thanks in advance,
Scott

I would put it below his Topps RC. It isn’t “truly” a RC but seems to garner some rookie card status in listings. The Topps RC in a PSA 9 seems to be selling around $750-$800 cdn.

Raw the Kraft seems to sell in the $100cdn range. If I had to guess based on how hot PSA graded stuff is I would say $400-$500. I could be way off but in this market you just never know.

Thanks in advance,

Scott, very nice card. But something that you need to watch for when people are asking what seems like a lot of money. There are two version of that card. And the ones that are from the boxes themselves are a much thicker stock and certainly command a very hefty premium. Usually in the 2-3 times range. I really cannot tell which one you have as I would need to see the back. But if this is what I think it is then it is either from a factory cut set or one that was inside the boxes and they came wrapped in their own plastic factory wrap.Which I am sure you can appreciate how much easier they would be to get a high grade then one that is removed from the box itself. Thanks.

I did not know this about there being 2 different versions of the card. I have attached the backside of the card. The card is not cut from a box as it's a thinner stock.

As for the point on the Topps RC vs. this; I completely agree with what was said as it's not a true RC but more from the "Rookie year" item; as such, i am not shocked that the value would be less.

Thanks for the information from you both - this is helpful

Scott

Scott.you have the easier version. The ones from the boxes have blue ink and there is no mistaken how much thicker they are. I have include a scan of the two I have left. The Gretzky is from that box. Take note of the perforation on the left edge of the Gretzky. It is still a very nice card.

Thank you for pointing this out. I knew about the origins to a point; but definitely not the fact there were 2 versions.
