While playing goal at drop-in hockey today in Berkley, MI, I suffered a very badly broken ring finger on my right hand. Somehow my blocker hand got turned while the blast came in and the puck and my goal stick obliterated the distal phalange on that finger resulting in what they call a comminuted break- I saw the x-ray during my 3 hour stay in the ER- you can see that the bone is busted into many small pieces. Obviously this ends my season (I was supposed to play in a semi-final playoff game Sunday night) and threatens my career as a Dentist at least short term. I am praying that I don't need surgery as that will further complicate things. Anyone who I am currently trading with please bear with me and if you pray if you can have a thought spared for me I'd much appreciate it.

thanks, Dave

Wow- Im sorry about that... maybe it had something to do with the size of Berkleys locker rooms... are they still the size of a linen closet? I havent played at that rink since like 1993.

In a related story to yours... I sprained my ankle playing HORSE a month ago (wall was close behind the backboard, came down off a layup, my foot landed half on the wall, half on the floor and twisted). The next monday was the last opportunity I had to play hockey with my dad before moving to Chicago... tried to give it a go but couldn't put any pressure on that ankle, henceforth, was really pissed.

Dr.Dave , All the best in a speedy recovery, Hope you are healed up for the expo and for your career as a dentist. Who's gonna crack your wax boxes now lol

Sorry to hear that....hope you get better soon! I know what it's like to be sidelined from an injury....not fun at all.

Here's to a speedy recovery and all the best. I've heard that it's next to impossible to perform as a one handed dentist.. :o
