104 years ago, the Imperial Tobacco Company issued a 45-card hockey set that included star players such as Georges Vezina, Newsy LaLonde, Art Ross, and Fred Cyclone Taylor. The 1911/12 C55 Hockey cards feature a beautiful simplistic design as you can see below (not my card, but I wish it was my card!)
After my high school graduation, I had a lot of time on my hands so I thought I should try my hand at making a custom hockey card set with the C55 design featuring some of my favorite players in the game today. So I went to work in Photoshop and created the cards. I found some thick vintage looking paper to print the cards, glued the layers together, and out came the finished products
First up is a custom of Buffalo Sabre and World Hockey Championship Gold-medalist, Tyler Ennis
Next up is a Sam Reinhart custom
Henrik Sedin in an awesome Vancouver Millionaires jersey
Tyler Seguin
How can you have a custom set without some Johnny Hockey?
Toronto's new favorite Swede, William Nylander
Last, but not least, Connor McOiler
Here's a image showing how thick the cards are, they are almost as thick as two base cards stacked on top of each other
And here they are altogether
I hope you enjoyed this Show n Tell, have a great week and Go Cavs!
