Was 05-06 SPA inserted in 06-07?

Just random thought, I remember being at the expo that year and weren't a ton of Crosby Future Watch actually coming out of 06-07? Or did I dream this?

I do remember 2 waves of 05-06 SPA, but for some reason I feel like the 06-07 had some previous year future watch.

Wave 2 never happened, since the original 05-06 release had completely saturated the market at the time. Whatever was not inserted in the original 05-06 release was included in 06-07 boxes.

I pulled my Ovechkin Future Watch out of 06-07. You weren't dreaming.

I pulled a Henrik Lundqvist FWA (05-06) and a Malkin FWA (06-07) from the same 2006-07 SP Authentic box.

They where insane value. I am surprised the price of 06/07 unopened has not risen. Maybe most collectors don't know the history of that product.

All the main cards from 05/06 where live autos and you got usually 1 auto at least from 05/06.

We all talk about cards being hot now. They where insane when that dual rookie class came through. UD just messed up SPA that year by not putting much value in wave 1 so they never did a wave 2 like they intended.

Everyone thought at the time by putting both (technically 3) rookie classes in 06/07 that would make up for it. It did add a ton of value.

I am fairly confident I broke more 06/07 SPA than any product in the history of my collecting. Looooovvvvved the extra hits. And I hit some great stuff in those boxes, just never the big guns.

I still remember it.

Montoya FWA and Ivaanas SOTT. Both on eBay, can’t get $10 for them both lol

It was so watered down, it was like the small koolaid packages without sugar. No flavour at all. Watered down crap. 19c a pack (The Koolaid) But the product was about $150 a box... Two autos usually resulted in $10 worth of cards, if you were lucky. 06-07 was/is the better purchase...
