Its the 33 year curse coming back to haunt us boys. 1942 Leafs/Wings, 1975 Isles/Pens and now exactly 33 years later the Wings once again play the team that blows a 3-0 lead. Say what you will about the call on Homer, the non-call on Loui Eriksson, Cheli's bad change and 19 missed nets- you have to give the Stars and Turco their due at this point. They could have folded up and called for tee times but instead found some guts and now have all the momentum. The way I look at it is like this: you ask a team to win 4 times in a row or even 3 times in a row and if its looked at as one large task then it certainly is really daunting. But now that 2 are in the books asking a team to win 2 in a row is really not that big of a deal at all.

If the Wings want to avoid all the above including the embarrassment and all the changes that will certainly be called for then at this point they need to put themselves in the mindset that THEY are the team facing elimination and play desperate hockey and get game 6 in any way possible. If this series gets to a game 7 then IMHO we are looking at a Stars-Pens final and huge amount of disappointment for the Detroit area.

I'm sorry to be a glass half empty guy Trev- I really am! It's just that this series is making me so nervous that I didn't sleep well last night and I'm betting that it'll be the same for me again tonight. My wife was kind of ridiculing me yesterday at how crappy of a mood I was in after the game but I just couldn't help myself!

I know how ya feel....after the game my wife made plans to go out with her friends cause i was in a crappy mood...in fact i still am...guess thats why she is taking the kids shopping....cant wait for game 6....
 
We need the MULE back... I think if somehow this goes to Game 7 that we will see the Mule back in the lineup which would be a HUGE boost for the Wings and I think it would put them over the top and take it in seven... I really don't think it's going tomake it to Game 7 though. The Wings always seem to take care of their opponents away from home. In fact their last 4 series (it may be more than that, thats all I remember) were won away from home. One in game 4 and the other three were all in game 6. I say history repeats itself and they take game 6 in Dallas. They gotta get a really good game from Zetterberg and Datsyuk again, they were pretty mediocre the past two games... The Wings top players have to step up! They gotta really want it!

but he a closet Red wings fan thanks to me.. he was just saying that he wasn't going
to watch game 5. Because it would just piss him off *specially the refs. And he wouldn't
be able to sleep LOL, And he said it about the game last night to. I just
laugh at him.. because at times I think hes worse then me.

But Dave, I know how you feel I get in a pissy mood if they start
self destructing Grrrr. But it doesn't help when Hubby says on they are going
to Lose. Then I give him the evil eye and send him to his room. So,
he can go and play on his computer and shut his pie hole. But, as soon as
I start to hoot and holler, who comes flying through the door to see whats
going on.

Your boys are getting what you ask for here, but they may not like what they get. Don't make him angry, you won't like him when he gets angry......

This should be a dandy of a series. Not happy we have to wait until Saturday to get it started, but maybe both teams will have time to heal up and go into it with a full compliment of regular starters ready to wage war.

Yup, the MULE should be back fro Game 1 which makes me really happy - they are much better with him in the Playoffs!!
