I guess I'm not sure to define a "major event". On one hand, I was thinking of Secret Wars but discounted it since it was just a limited series. Then I see it had crossovers in several titles (ASM, Iron Man, Hulk, Uncanny X-Men, and so on).
So maybe a "major event" has to have tie-ins from other titles? If so, I'll list a few but am interested in getting fodder for more reading:
Obviously this is a very short list of what could literally be dozens and dozens, and you can tell from my list that most are quite recent (with some in progress).
