Wanted to troll for people's opinions on 2 related but different questions:

What television/movie/comic properties should be licensed into cards? What's out there that you think would make a prime idea for a set?

With respect to NS in general, anyone have some creative ideas for other inserts etc? Everybody's always got ideas for sports cards, there must be some creative ideas for the NS stuff!

As I said just want to get some discussion going and see what people think (might also make some good fodder for the next Insider's Edge)

have they ever put actual film reel bits in a card? might be too costly but they do for some baseball products.

The two biggest I can think of right now are--

1) Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles - I wasn't a big fan of the show, but I know there is only one certified Glau auto out there, and I'd definitely go for a Lena Headey 'graph! I know with the upcoming season some are looking for a Shirley Manson one, too.

2) The Dark Knight - It had a sticker release, but I don't count that as a real set. Throw in a Bale auto, a Ledger cut auto--it would have been a huge set.

I'm probably the only person in the world who would want this, but I loved Newsradio. One of my favorite shows of all time. I'd like to see a set for that. And though not now, but a few years ago I would have liked to have seen followup releases to Inkwork's Roswell series.

As far as inserts, while we get them some here and there, I'm a fan of die-cut cards as well as the cel cards. If you want to get crazy, maybe in comic cards some pieces of the original storyboard art. I know that would be sacrilege to some, and whole sheets or covers are highly collectible. But people said the same thing about cutting up jerseys years ago in sports.

Steve Charendoff from Rittenhouse is a very approachable guy (and a Toronto boy to boot!). I've submitted a few ideas to them, one being a set that encompasses certain networks.

CBS was king back in the 70s with shows like Wonder Woman, The Incredible Hulk, All In The Family, The Jeffersons, etc. I don't know that some of these sets would be able to stand alone, but how cool would it be to have autographed cards of:

Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman
Lou Ferrigno as the live action Incredible Hulk
Carroll O'Connor cut autographs as Archie Bunker
Sherman Helmsley as George Jefferson (this one might only be me wishing for this)

As for insert ideas, right now sketch, prop and autograph cards are it, but I would like to see it NOT get too ridiculous. Maybe go old school with hologram cards or die cut inserts.

One idea I've just had with regards to film / TV issues ..........

- show / film used scripts

I imagine most scripts end up with all kinds of scribblings on, imagine if they cut up original scripts and used them like a cut auto.

So from Star Wars saga you could pull a card with a cut script line like "I am your father". Maybe with some JEJ or Lucas scribbles on.

Just an idea I haven't seen yet

I for one would love to see a SNL themed set. Imagine costume pieces from classics like "I'm Gumby dammit", the Cheerleaders, Land shark, Coneheads, Waynes World, The Church Lady, and best of all the Farley/Swayze Chippendales sketch....there would literally be thousands of classics to choose from. Couple that with auto's from Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Will Ferrell, Dana Carvey, Adam Sandler (among others) and cut auto's from Chris Farley, John Belushi and Phil Hartman?

One word....WOW.

Id love to see a Rock N Roll HOF set.. with cut autos of some of the great deceased rock n rollers and worn relics..

Imagine pulling a worn relic card of the uniform worn by John Lennon for the Sgt peppers album cover?

Or a cut auto of Jim Morrison?

Or a piece of Drum kit from keith Moon or John Bonham?

A guitar pick from Jim hendrix

What a great and momentous set that would be!

heck they could even issue auto graph cards of entire bands like Aerosmith, the Stones..etc

Oh forgot.. in answer to the film reels disney inserted these in their sets from the early naughts.

I have all 10 cards from series 1 and a few from series two.. Most of them bought on ebay at a very high price.

If you click on my middle bucket link, got to nft folder and go to the last page their are pictures of them there! I also have some Harry Potter ones.

MONTY PYTHON! don't know if its been done, but it would be a good set, most have gone on to have good careers; cleese with acting, gilliam the director, palin the travel guide, idle with acting and brodway, jones has done all sorts of stuff and chapman... well hes dead, so you would have to get the cut auto to complete the set! i dunno, i think it would be a good idea, theres not much out there as far as autos go of there guys, most of it un python related. just my 2 cents, ill leave it at that

I'd go broke trying to hit a George/Weezy dual auto.
LOL

Two & a Half Men... with the main auto subset being "Charlie's Chicks"... ah forget it... that set would be ridiculous to build.

I'd like to see a revival of old 70s show cards... I have unopened boxes of Magnum P.I., Knight Rider, CHiPs, M*A*S*H and a few others. How about a "We grew up on these shows" set? I'd love to have an Alan Alda or Tom Selleck auto!

id love to see some cards of The Office! favorite show and would be awesome to get a dwight auto or something

The Office would be awesome; I would buy cases of the stuff. There are a few Dwight autos out there, less than 10. Here's a link to mine:http://s208.photobucket.com/albums/bb96/Androidmonkey/Non-Sports%20Cards/PC/?action=view&current=Non-sports9-26004.jpg

Another great idea would be redemption cards for actual props. Maybe an entire shirt or a small statue from the background, something like that.
