I was wondering g this as I have an auto of his and I wasn't sure if his cards would increase substantially if he was to unfortunately pass away. I'm not looking to profit off his passing as the card I have is always going to be a PC card. has this happened to other high profile athletes who pass away?

He was really bad a few months ago from a couple of strokes but his family took him to Mexico for some kind of a stem cell surgery and he is supposedly make a really strong recovery.

Jean Beliveau passed away not too long ago. Not too sure but that'd be a good start to check out. I only have one auto of both Beliveau & Howe (wire autos) and they're permanent PC items.

JBs stayed pretty steady. Profiteers upped buy it now prices for him after his death, you'll see a lot of $50-80 BINs. In reality they are worth about $30-35.

the card I have is an ultimate collection ultimate nicknames auto /25. I like the card so I will be keeping it. I do hope that his health improves but it sounds like that probably won't happen.

I think in the more recent times prices are more likely to stay the same for the short term. Back even 10-15 years ago, before vintage autos started booming as they have the last decade or so, was different. When Maurice Richard passed, his autos boomed, because there wasn't that many of them. But how many autos does Howe have? I'd venture a guess at tens of thousands, even if that may be horribly off. His autos may spike as supply dwindles in the long term, but more than likely to stay pretty flat for the time being.
