what type of file should I use ?

Just got my new scanner hooked up and I have the following 4 options:

TIFF
BMP
JPEG
PDF

just curious which I should be using/does it make a difference and which works best with photobucket as that is where I upload my pictures to so I can post them in my show and tells.

I use .JPG

Take that with a grain of salt though. I am basically 'compoodur illidurat' and .JPG was the only one I could figure out without many curse words.

Use jpeg files. They are smaller in terms of hard drive space than the others, and most people have common applications on their computers to view them easily. On the downside, they also tend to be the worst in terms of resolution and quality, but they get the job done well enough.

I use PNG, although I scan as JPG (I'm not sure if my scanner supports PNG directly).
