Haven't seen one of these threads yet for the upcoming expo. Here's a couple things off the top of my head, there's lots of other things I'm sure people will add;

Wear comfortable shoes, the floor there is horrible and if you're going to be there for any period of time you really want to make sure you have comfy shoes. Might even want to consider buying some of those gel inserts.

The food isn't great, consider packing a snack and bottle of water. There's also a Tim Horton's that's about a 5 to 10 minute walk from the Intl Ctr.

Be patient, some tables are going to have lots of people hanging around them so be prepared to wait.

Be friendly and socialize, come by the HI booth or other HI members booths and say hello, socializing with fellow hobby junkies will make the day more pleasant and go by faster. Being friendly and polite also works well when you're trying to make deals with people.

One of the best pieces of advice I got last year when I went was to bring a small suitcase that you can wheel around as opposed to carry your box of cards. That was a big one for me.

Also, bring hand wipes. I'm not germophobic by any means, but being able to wipe the hands clean every once in a while was nice.

And have fun. If you're there for a few hours or the entire weekend, it should be a good time. If it feels like "work", then sit back and chat with someone for a few minutes.

All good suggestions. Here's another:
Keep your sense of humour handy. Some of the things you're going to see are laughable. That's not to say you SHOULD laugh at them, but just remember to keep it light and fun.

hand sanitizer, comfortable shoes, and plan for food are the main things you need to know, have fun everyone.

heres an important one you should remember for the FALL EXPO....................................... PIN ON A POPPY AND SHUT UP WHEN THERES A MOMENT OF SILENCE

To be fair, I've never seen anything less than respect from visitors for that tradition.

Also important: BATHE. Seriously. Do not be a contributor to con funk. If you already bathe...bring Febreeze.

Top Tip!

This was mentioned in a similar thread a year or so ago, but take cash. When I went, although there was a cash machine there were big lin ups for it and I think at one point it ran out of $$$'s.

It always runs out of cash! Also it would be best if possible to have Canadian cash. While they are almost at par a lot of dealers will not accept it and others will most likely be taking it in at less than par.
