I'm not sure if there has been a thread on this subject already, but WOW!!
I picked up the Beckett Hockey magazine for Dec / Jan 2010 and Tavares is on the front cover with a title DEAR JOHN.
I'm reading the article written by Russ Cohen about Tavares, the Islander team, fans, hobby, hype, draft pick, etc, etc...
I turn to page 14 and there's a picture of Tavares after scoring a goal and in big bold orange print under the pic is JOHN TAVARES NEW YORK RANGERS #91 ??????:|
WTF. Who does the editing for hockey at Beckett?
I know errors in stories may be overlooked. However, to have the incorrect team of the player focused on the months magazine is inexcusable.
I'm aware Beckett has done this before and spelt the players name incorrectly and quoted wrong stats, etc.
You would think that because there are only a handful of pages with articles on them that Beckett would spend a little more time on ensuring the facts are accurate. They may actually employ individuals with extensive hockey knowledge to review the articles before going to print. Especially hundreds of thousands of magazines
Thanks for reading my two minute rant.
