I'm doing the 2000-01 sp authentic sign of the times set. I've been at it for about a year and I have never seen the Martin Brodeur or Milan Hejduk. I've checked here, eBay, comc and various other forums. Does anyone have any other ideas of where I can look? I'm getting desperate.

Only a year? I have cards that I've looking for, for over 10 years, I guess you have to be patient. Sorry I can't help more than that.

My best,

Ken

So what I do is start looking for information on whether or not they exist. Check with the Brodeur guys and see if they have one, or know if it exists or not. Like re-ac-tor said, a year is a short time to hunt. I have been after Stadium Club OPC First Day Issues of Lemieux for a while, and nailed all 3 last week. I always say, know what you are looking for, make sure it exists and keep hunting. When you find them, it is just like Christmas!!

As for your question, I just search every available "mainstream" option (eBay, COMC, Tradera (aka "Swedish ebay"), etc) and then I just make sure my wantlists are up to date and I'm online as much as I can to make more people aware that I'm looking for said card(s). Really involving the community around you helps a lot. I don't know what my collection would look like if it wasn't for collectors pointing me in the direction of cards.

I also google search a lot for crd images, hoping it can lead me to an active email address or username. I also search trade lists sometimes to see, by chance, someone has something I need. Usually come up empty since my wantlist is very specific, and that's okay, but sometimes you get lucky and find a card or two.

Also, patience is key. That word may be run unto the ground, but it's so, so true. Keep at it, make your wantlists known, and keep digging and digging until you find it. Sometimes it takes more than a year, especially for those older sets of a highly collectible goalie and soon to be HHOF'r.

But don't fret, and keep at it. The day you find one will be extra sweet because of the time spent searching for it. It's like finding buried treasure.

For a mainstream set I thought it would be a little easier to see some of these cards. The bourque, which is supposedly only 19 copies, I've seen 3 of them. The hejduk is an sp so I get that it's a little harder to find but the Brodeur is not listed as an sp. Thank you all for your insight.

Sportlots.com have ten different 2000-01 SP Authentic Sign of the Times cards but no Martin Brodeur or Milan Hejduk.

I share in your frustration. I have a few 95-96 Playoff One on One Cards I need for my set and have offered finders fees for the cards I need but still it hasn't helped.

I am sure your two cards are sitting in a collection somewhere that hasn't been touched in years. I find that the really rare 90's and 00's stuff has really dried up.

Keep on searching and don't give up! Going to the big shows helps as well : )

I only have 2 big shows a year and Long Island isn't exactly a hockey hot bed lol. There's one coming up in October so I'll be sure to hit it and hopefully find the remaining cards.

despite not being listed as an SP i'd bet the farm it was an un-announced SP.i set up at shows back then in NJ and can say that the Brodeur was harder then hens teeth to find.i saw maybe two copies of it when it was live, both sold for well over book back then($100+).i have a monthly show down here and i'll keep my eyes open for ya.
