In going through my Sundin collection this week, I got to revisit a lot of the older cards from the 90s and early 2000s. There was some real great product released along that time. (Some not so great too, but that's another thread) Some awesom product in fact, with cool and original parallels and inserts that I would love to see again!

No, I don't mean Pro Set! I mean some the great stuff that we got before Upper D ick moved in and took control of the NHL releases! Stuff along the lines of Crown Royale, Donruss Elite, Pacific, Pinnacle, Stadium Club, Topps Finest, and so on.

Now, I wasn't super active as a collector when these products were popular and alive and thriving. But I do have my favorites. So it got me to wondering;
Which of these products do you miss most and if it was possible, could release some fresh product this hockey season.

OPC/Topps for sure.Always collected those cards in the late 90's-early 00's.

Dammit, I didn't put that in the poll! :o Well, I guess Topps is there. We can count that as combined.

Ya, I miss them too!

Thanks
Kevin

I'm with Justin on this...

OPC/Topps. Always enjoyed their 'Hardsigned Autographs!'

Yup, if you look at some of the stuff I have posted from my "other" sports this year, you know that sets like Allen & Ginter's and Turkey Red would be amazing if they had hockey versions.

Plus, like Brian said, they've got the hard-signed goodness!;)

Topps/OPC no question for me, the long tradition of putting out quality sets year in year out is sorely missed in hockey. As Barrie pointed out just look at their issues in the other sports, very unique stuff.

Dan.

Pacific For sure im one of those guys who loves parallels!! Plus some of there inserts were really neat!!

I voted Pacific. I always enjoyed building their sets and the had some really cool inserts. Great stuff to open... Topps/OPC was my second choice only because they had just as may bad products as good. Yes they had some sweet hard signed 'graphs, but their sets, inserts and parallels were not very impressive unless you count vintage. That's my $.02. Mike

BTW, A liscenced ITG would be my #1 if it were an option.

Not Turkey Red, thats stuff the ugliest crap ever printed on cardboard ;)

A&G on the other hand is sweeeet stuff :)

I vote for Topps products

OPC... I still love the 70s & 80s classic sets, with my favourite probably the 84/85 (Yzerman RC) and the 78/79 (Bossy RC). What ever happened to the brand? Did Topps just silently retire it? Wish some Canadian company would pick it up and revive it... hmmm... wonder what that would cost... hmmmmmmmm.... ;)

I voted Pacific. The main reason is that most of the time, I felt I got some good value for the box I had opened. Oh yeah, I'm one of the guys who likes parallels too. ;)

I went with Donruss...I thought that the Preferred was a cool set with some nice looking inserts.

Pinnacle...

Gotta love the high use of Dufex on the inserts. If you pulled one, you felt like you got something pretty cool. Plus, the 2 years of BAP sets were quite nice in regards to autographs.
