If I want to get a Bryce Harper rookie card... which year is the true year? I ebay it and I'm very confused as they have cards of him pictured in Nationals gear but he hasn't even made it past single A yet...

The MLB Rookie Card rule is the same as it is in the NHL. That will be once they've played a game in the majors. The cards that you see in Bowman are deemed to be inserts - although the diehard prospectors will treat first appearances differently - particularly if it's an autograph in a Bowman product
