Why doesn't Upper Deck state which team the depicted athletes memorabilia was worn from?

My guess is they have a bin with the players name on it and a bunch of Random memorabilia in it.

I believe baseball mandated a few years back that the player must be puctured with the same team represented in the swatch. Not sure that Topps still does this, but it makes sense to me.

Kind of frustrating , some of my cup cards show lafleur in a Montreal jersey, but state it's a Rangers jersey on the back. Other years they don't say at all. Seems to change year to year. Last year, they used all 3 types of lafleur jerseys in different subsets , but don't say on the back. Last year, the mem seemed to match the jersey worn in the picture. I just wish it was consistent

This is why I like looking through some of my ITG cards. The wording on the back is much more specific to begin with. Sure, mistakes happen, but it can be frustrating for sure. UD's vague wording should definitely be more accurate.
