I miss the old style wizard magazine. Just visited my old comic shop and got a huge stack of old wizards to read and look through. The guide section was okay but the articles were great reads and very comical. I wish they wete still making the old ones. They got weak towards the end and got more interested in movies but the old list and articles were entertaining.

Absolutely agreed on everything you said.

Remember when Wizard was hundreds of pages. Very thick. Had a rectangular spine it was so thick! That was awesome.... so entertaining. It was a must buy everytime it came out and it was great to thumb through it for weeks. It did get crappy near the end (when it was a quarter of the size) but man, those first 10 years or whatever were outstanding!

I found a few old wizards a couple weeks ago & I agree, when they resembled a book rather than a magazine they were awesome

Yup still read alot of my old wizard magazines.
Loved the A.C.E and 1/2 issues they offered.
It got bad when they decided to expand too fast and everything had to have its own magazine (pokemon, magic, toyfare - but i must admit the comic with the megos figures were funny, and their own comic book lines).

I hated Wizard. Truly, madly, deeply. Mainly because I hated anything guidebook-related.

I still have quite a few that I read through as well - for the articles, though the guides are funny to look at and see what was hot and what was not back then.

I still have a bunch of the insert comics as well...
