WOOO McKenna is a Bolt!

Yeah, no one else ehre will care, but I will be collecting anything and everything Mike McKenna next season. He was signed today to play backup to Mike Smith while Ramo gets PT in the AHL. Meanwhile, Smith has a broken hand so Mike may get a game in! Good for him as he deserves it.

And I'll add it to my signature now, but I will be the #1 McKenna collector haha

That is awesome... He is by far my favorite former Portand Pirate. He was a huge fan favorite. Just a quick story about Mike.. I was at cleaning out day after the Pirates lost in the playoffs last year. Mike had been in and out and always loved chatting it up with my kids. Mike was up in the locker room when an Ice Cream truck went up the street with the bells a ringing. Mike ran out of the locker room like a 10 year old and up the street after the truck. The truck pulled over and backed down to the entrance. Mike then bought ice creams for anyone who wanted one. so we sat on the curb with McKenna J.S. Aubin and Bruno St. Jacques eating an ice cream sandwich. That will be a highlight for years to come. Just a great day when they can act like kids and not be so serious.

He's starting tonight against the Pens and, with the way they've been playing, chances are he'll get his first win.

He is playing very good so far in this game. Whats the deal with him? Is he a young prospect or a older rookie AHLer?

He's 25 so of average age for a new non-phenom goalie. He grew up in St. Louis and I've known him for a while now which is why I was excited. I have known many kids that are major leaguers now, but never anyone in the NHL.

I'm hoping he gets a solid chance as he has the tools and has been a bright spot on the terrible Admirals this year. Better than Ramo and I will be excited to see him in NHL releases hopefully. I have not been collecting much anymore, but will if he gets into products

Too bad he lost, however he did face 35 shots. And well you know once Malkin or Crosby decide they want to single handedly win a game, the pretty much are unstoppable.
