The last two have spiraled downward due to lack of interest overall, but this remains an HI original and a favorite amongst the members. Here's my proposal:
+ You submit a list of the top five teams you would like to manage. Everyone's list will then be randomly drawn, and if your number one team is available, you have that team, if not, it goes down the list. If none of your five teams are available, it will be chosen at random.
+ Your team will come as it is in real life. There will be no tedious and brutally long fantasy draft.
+ If the majority favors it, we will have a rookie draft, only one round though, consisting of this year's draft class. Since the Hawks will still be the Hawks, and the Pistons are still the actual Pistons, the actual NBA draft order will be used, with the exception of trades made in the mock season.
+ Your team can only have a maximum of 12 players, and 1 IL spot, totaling 13 total positions on your team.
+ Each team will be required to have an official team website. You will create an account at FreeWebs.com, and the name of your site will be 'www.freewebs.com/HIpacers/' or whatever your team is.
+ Even if you don't have any HTML skills, etc. [making websites], you MUST start from scratch. You cannot use the templates that FreeWebs provides. If you want your site to be simple because you don't want to learn HTML, you can just do some basic text with your roster and some other tidbits of information, or whatever you want. EDIT: YOU MAY USE A TEMPLATE, IT WILL BE EASIER FOR EVERYONE.
+ The season will officially end 4 weeks after the rookie draft concludes. Then, the voting process will begin. The criteria will be the improvement of the actual team, and the direction it is headed; and also, the website for your team. If you have a really awesome site and it shows that you put some legitimate effort into it, you will increase your chances of getting votes.
+ Trading will be setup so that if a trade is agreed upon, it goes through. However, if the commish of the mock season receives a complaint about the trade, the commish has the right to veto the transaction and place the players back on the teams they were traded from, invalidating the trade. But, each individual trade does not require the commish's approval before it goes through, but it is subject to his approval if someone doesn't agree with it.
Those are just my ideas so far. Let me know what you guys think.
