I always get the sense that rookie cards are priced right out of the gate as if the player had already reached their projected potential. How accomplished and how popular would Nathan Mackinnon have to be by now (after just 3 seasons) to sustain a $4,500 price level on his rookie card - even one numbered to 5? You definitely read the market right by selling when you did!
