So, IF the lockout is resolved and hockey is back on Nov 2, how likely is it that Yak might still be in series 1? I mean, clearly they have photos of him, so a card CAN be made...is it possible?

If the season would start on Nov 2 I think they would try and insert 10 of the rookies to debut into the product. They probably don't have time to re-do the series but I am sure they made the cards already for a few of the big guys and they are ready to be put in if the season is a go before the product goes live.

At this point, I expect that none of the new rookies this year (Yak, or otherwise) will be in Series 1. Considering the set will be for sale in about 3 weeks - I can't imagine thats enough time for UD to actually pull it off.

0% -- unless they have some sort of YG redemption program. According to their Facebook, 2012-13 UD1 is an eligible product for their Expo Priority Signings redemption program. That would mean insert the cards ASAP after the first game, do the print runs, package, and ship to Distributers all within a week. Snow ball's chance.

On that note, I think YG redemptions would create a bigger headache in the event we lose the entire season. How would they choose which rookies next season to back fill the 2012-13 redemptions, unless they stick with the Draft Year. I see a return to the 2004-05 YG content (veterans, oddities, ...)

No way they do a redemption program for YGs. It would cost so much for UD to ship out those cards. I understand redemptions for cards that are low print run or even up to 999 like some FW cards, but there are literally thousands upon thousands of YGs and if half of those 50 YG are redemptions for 2012ers then I can't see it being feasible at all between postage, supplies and labour.

UD can't include rookies unless they touch the ice durring a NHL game. There isn't enough time between a possible start date of Nov 2nd, to pack and ship the product, and get it to stores by Nov 8th.

yeah i was being overly optimistic of a Nov 2 start date...i know of the rules of RC, but i was curious timing wise if the games started up Nov 2, could it in theory be done - no need to worry about that now :(
