Hey guys, I have been in search of a Mike McCarron High Gloss young guns since the 15-16 UD2 series was released. I missed one early on in the release. Now there is one on ebay, but at a BIN/OBO of $400. I honestly don't see this card being worth more than $100. I know there is a sort of known multiplier rule for the Exclusives and High Gloss versions. Any ideas on what I should be looking at?

There is no set multiplier on YG High Gloss - it really is supply and demand. Unfortunately some sellers believe that their card made be worth way more than it's actually worth just because it is a YG. I've seen YGs of guys who have played only one game have their YG HG/Exclusives /10 listed for $500-600 even though they never made it back to the NHL again. And for some of those that you try to reason with the seller - they will hold it hostage once interest is shown in it for those marginal players

I waited to get a Emile Poirier HG, paid just over $20 for it after waiting 12 months.

Unless it's a superstar, I would hold off.

Yeah I would hold off and grab one in the future. While High Gloss YG's are rare cards, and should definitely command a premium, it's still not worth that much. He can list his cards for however much he chooses, but the secondary market and general interest in players can give you an idea of how much it's really worth.

And who knows, you'll probably end up finding another copy somewhere for a more realistic price. Definitely not worth more than $100 when looking at other HG prices.

He's a Hab. They command premium right off the bat.

Another thing you have to consider is; how many are already gone? For example, I knew that a minimum of 5 of the Virtanen YG HG were already gone, so that meant a maximum of 5 left. So, I ended up overpaying just to make sure I had mine. And even at that, it was less than what 4 of the 5 that were already gone sold for.

I'd wait. The main thing you have going against you is that he's a Hab.

No bloomin' way that's a 400 card, even if that is CDN.

I have only seen 2 pop up, and there is potential that this is the 1st one I saw back when it was released. The seller said he paid $200 for it, which is around what I remember the one i missed went for...again, upon release. I offered $100, I won't go higher. I saw the Poirier go for $20, and a Chris Wideman went for $40 and he has played 150 NHL games. I am still hunting for the 08-09 Danny Taylor Young gun High Gloss and I have never seen one of those pop up.

Ages ago I remember being stunned my Maxime LaPierre HG Young Gun netted me $150. McCarron is still projected (heh heh) to be better than LaPierre so 150 is probably the mean going rate for the time being - until McCarron bombs out.

The seller is looking for the FOMO buyer who NEEDS this for their collection. You can probably wait him out.
