I was just thinking over the year that was in my collecting, and thought it would be cool to see everyones best pull or steal of the year!

Mine would be:

No steals for me (although my local shop owner gives me 50% off singles all the time) but i did pull this:

My best pull was the silver Lemieux patch from mcdonalds. I only bought 5 packs to see what it looks like.

Accually this was right before christmas of 2003 but close enough

My best pull was the triple auto in my sig and the SPA Zherdev Rc which were in the same box, and my best steal was the Topps Prestine Press plate Belfour 1/1 for $10 canadian at the local card show.

Hmm.

Steal: no idea. Haven't gotten any massive deals.
Pull: nothing big here either, but Turco McDonalds patch, which like Jake, may have taken place LATE 03. If not that,UD Ice Under Glass Auto Zetterberg. Really nice looking card, books for crap, but it's a nice card.

This was my white whale for probably 6 months, because these cards are nearly impossible to find - estimated, there are only 200 - 300 of each printed. Killing off a white whale for 10 cents makes it a steal to me.

I felt like I hit the lottery with this one. I'm still looking to trade or sell it, but not too actively. I really have no idea what to price it at, but I guess that's a good thing

No runner up for best pull - I didn't pull anything worth more than $12.00 or so in the entire rest of the year.

This is my first serious year of collecting (hasn't even been a full year yet ), but this board makes collecting so much more fun. Thanks guys!!

Pulls - kind of a blah year, but the Crosby 2 clr emblem from Heroes and Prospects and the last box of Parkhurst Rookie were fantastic.

Dave, the nicest card I pulled in 04 was from a pack of 02-03 Parkhurst. The card was a Patented Power dual jersey of Brett Hull and Joe Thornton, only 20 sets produced, not priced due to scarcity. Card is happily residing in Ralph's Thornton collection.

I also stole a number of Gold parallels thanks to ITG not numbering them or anything. Including Ryan Malone x2, Al MacInnis x2, Brian Leetch, and Bill Guerin.


I guess 2004 was a pretty good year. Funny thing is only one of the above cards is still in my possession, that'd be the Ryan Malone Jersey Auto RC.
