Well - Saturday night is the big night. Let's hear your thoughts about it. I'm really looking forward to seeing it. I'll be wearing my jersey with pride (and get a little harrassment I'm sure) all day long! ;) :D

Here's mine. I paid a ton for this jersey back in Oct93.

I took the nameplate off the day he was traded. I was so upset at the time, I was going to burn his jersey.

I'm on the "could care less about his retirement bench".

Go Price Go

What are you guys talking about?? His number is already retired!! :D :D

LOL now that's funny, He was my favorite player as a kid his cup runs in the bleu, blanc et rouge we epic, Habs will be fired up tonight and Lucic better keep his head up, for some reason I can see Larque getting a suspension in the mail before monday morning LOL, somebody needs to get this team fired up who better than Roy, Love to see Carey get a shutout tonight.

It's going to be a special moment for the greatest goaltender of our time, and the Canadiens organization, tonight. I'm just glad that it starts early so that CBC doesn't have the chance to pass it over and show the Wendel Clark jersey "honour" ceremony like they did with Boom Boom.

I'm not even nearly a Canadiens fan and even to me this is a big deal. This is the guy WE ALL grew up watching and loving to some degree. We were spoiled by watching one of the best ever and then witnessing the transformation of Martin Brodeur into an all time great. It's sad to say that there isn't anyone else coming down the pipe who even remotely fits the bill. I consider myself lucky to have seen Patrick Roy play.

I'm also excited about Wendel getting his number retired, but Patrick Roy having his retired overshadows that by a longshot. Too bad the Leafs didn't pick another weekend to do that on.

I just looked at the CBC schedule and (if I'm reading it correctly) it looks like they're showing the ceremony online only. You would think where Roy is among the greatest goalies in NHL history that they would show it nationally on TV as well.

Thanks God I have Bell Express view.

CBC is a complete joke.

The Toronto Maple Leafs should be ashamed of themselves. Hundreds of hockey days and they pick this one.

How about the Canadiens? Hundreds of days, and they pick the day before the Grey Cup, which their home city just happens to be hosting?

There are pros and cons for pretty much every day of the calendar. It seems odd that the Canadiens picked a weekend when their city was also hosting one of the biggest annual sporting events in Canada.

No one fits the bill? I think there are a couple that couldd become the "roy" or "brodeur" of kids these days. Luongo is pretty good and so is Lundquist. If that's not a good goalie showdown then you truely have been spoiled.

You're right Trish, they should have had the Grey Cup next weekend:D

Edit: 11 + 22= 33

would of made more sense for the leafs to retire clarkies jersey on the 17th of a month, with Roy there is no 33 on the calendar LOL, shame the game is not televised should be a dandy I guess I will try the boston feed for a period and then off to RDS boston announcers are pretty brutal on a good day, I imagine RDS is not much better but I cant understand them anyways LOL

I'll listen to the NESN feed for a while, but they are hard on the ears. He's more of a fan than a play by play man.

The Montreal game must be on one of the eleven different CBC regions. I'll check now.

EDIT: The game is on 249 in Punjabi lol! and 206 in Canadian.

Chris go Bell Express view. Cable blows!
