I picked up an Elias gold #42 from 06/07. Can someone tell me the odds on these? I've already been in contact with jab16399 about it as it's on his needs list. But would just like to know how tough they are to get.

According to the OPG, the Centennial set Nilan Autograph is $15. The same autograph that routinely breaks $100 at auction.

Yeah, the OPG is credible.

Agreed, the OPG is not that accurate a lot of the time. I recently added a nice 98-99 Topps Gold Label Leetch #/25. I think the OPG has the card at $200. Now, I realize these are tough, but today that same card would book for $12 or so... Perhaps somewhere in the middle is more like it.

If I am not mistaken the Luongo gold books for 15 or something like that. Haven't seen one sell for less then 50...

I don't take to much stock in OPG's. I pretty sure they set a price at release and don't touch them unless it's a crosby/ovenchicken player.

Thanks for the insight guys. If you had to guess a print run what would that be? less then 100?

I think it's 15-20 copies, I've seen some auctions end quite cheap but they're as pointed out above hard to predict and often ends high and imo cost more then I think they're worth.

Considering how lightly it was broken - the ending prices for whatever has appeared do not surprise me - especially when you deal with some player collectors

I'm no huge Beckett fan. At the same time, I think they get knocked way too hard and way too often. If you are going to knock them at least get your facts right. According to the updated pricing, as of today. This card books for $200 not $15.

Not to belabor the point too much (or pick on quincy) but the initial estimate by quincy of $100 is way off.

This just shows you have difficult pricing something can be. So the fact that Beckett which literally has millions of cards to price, means they aren't going to be bang on 100% of the time. Again I'm not a Beckett apologist. But I would imagine that they get the pricing between the HI and LOW about 80% of the time. It is the 20% that is maddening, but it isn't like they are way off, on every single card.

lol I think his point was that the bv is way off, maybe they sell for $125 tomorrow, I bet he wouldn't throw it back at you then?

I know beckett at most times are somehow accurate but you have to remember many buy and sell by looking at the beckett not opposite. Also most cards are lower end and with their 2/5 range in pricing I think it's quite hard to price a $1-50card inaccurate in that wide range..

Here is what one looks like...
