Pics from the Palmateer/Harrison Signing at the Toronto Card Show

Good thing Palmateer was signing...cause I don't see lots of people lining up for the Harrison auto :) I just had to google who he was. I see he had a total of 28 career wins...but 17 were with the Leafs...lol.

It's neat to see the people coming out with their old Palmateer items, like the mask. He's the first Toronto goalie I remember from me growing up.

Not sure what the totals were at the show, but I sold 16 Palmateer autos at the store, and amazingly 6 Paul Harrison! I was surprised that many people wanted him. Mind you, nobody just ordered a Harrison auto, it was always with a Palmateer (or Palmy, as he calls himself!:) )

Thanks for posting these. That's my buddy's Toronto star profile from 1978-"Palmy" couldn't believe how good a shape he had kept it in.
I personally was there for Harrison as Palmy is more widely available. I bought 4 Harrison auto's and two of Palmy since I acquired some new Capitals pics of him.

Both guys were pure class and it was interesting to hear Harrison explain to me his 78-79 OPC card features an airbrushed photo (which you can clearly see) but the airbrusher left the #35 on his jersey which he never wore with the Leafs even though he is "pictured" as a Leaf on the card.
Also due to a slightly late flight arrival by Palmy, Harrison had already signed a great deal of his autographs before Palmateer arrived.

Great job to the organizers who were cordial and organized.

Let's see some more Leafs goalies down the road. Peter Ing, Alan Bester, Ken Wregget, Curt Ridley, Jiri Crha, Trevor Kidd, Don Edwards, Rick St Croix, Mark Laforest, Rick Wamsley etc.

Thank you very much for the compliments. We work our butts off on this show. There's always a lot more to it than it seems.

I was right there when Paul was telling that story!

Obviously we wouldn't have brought Harrison in on his own, but surprisingly he was quite the draw. A few people did come mainly for him and we sold out of his photos. All we have available on our site for Harrison are special cards that he provided himself and signed.

We also had Palmateer goalie masks and I'm glad our supplier gave us more than we ordered because we completely sold out of all of them!

It was definitely a great signing.
