UD Redemption opinions wanted

After 2 years of e-mails and verbal comunications with the best at upper deck
they have finally responded with the dreaded "The cards will not be produced"
should I send in all at once OR send in individual. Here is the 3 cards in question. I say one at a time .Please no UD bashing just your opion.

1) Wayne Gretzky 06/07 NHL SPGU Letter marks auto #to 50 redeemed 3/6/07

2) Dominik Hasek / Martin Brodeur 06/07 NHL the CUP Dual auto Shields 1/1
redeemed 8/1/07

3) Cecil Hart / Mark Messier 08/09 UD BLACK HOCKEY TROPHY CUTS-CUT WITH LABEL AUTO CD#TWC-MH REDEEMED 10/26/08

I seriously want to throw up after reading that list. That is pathetic on UD's part. You better escalate that and make sure someone high up the food chain (not "joe customer service") handles your replacement package. I really wonder what (if anything) UD has to offer for those heavyweights.

It seems when you try to replace a bunch of low to mid-end stuff all at once, Upper Deck will generally send you fewer, higher end items. In your case though, with the nature of the items I would probably swap one out at a time so you know exactly what you're getting as a replacement for each card. It'll be interesting to see what they deem as being of similar value to the 2 1/1's that you've got. Good luck!

Wow - I just gagged a little bit there - good luck with those but I would definitely be talking to a supervisor over there to make sure that you get something close and not a Ben Eager Auto and a pack of Hot Prospects

Personally I think I'd go for a 1 for 1 approach as well. And start off with the Gretz to get a sense of what kind of cards you can expect for your two 1/1 heavy-wieghts...

That's a whole loaf of pathetic, toasted and slathered in sad spread. I could see maybe one of those cards ending up beyond their means to produce. All 3? Inexcusable.

What's the reason for the Brodeur/Hasek shield not being produced? I know Brodeur signs and I pulled a Hasek auto from 07-08 SPA so I know he's signed since then.

Did the card get lost?

the gretzky letter marks can likely be replaced by another gretzky lettermarks of a different year so that might not be too bad.

no clue what UD is going to do on the dual shields.

as for the dual cut card, shouldn't UD have been able to verify that they actually had the cut autos for the dual cut card? its not like the they have to send the card out for the athlete to sign or anything.

I'm just wondering what kind of fiasco they're going to create with what they offer you in place of those heavyweights.

I'd try to contact someone directly and work with them to get all three resolved. That's ridiculous that those won't be produced, but in your shoes, I wouldn't blindly send them in for replacement. Get on the horn and have someone work with you.

Karvin has an open line, maybe now's the time to put that to the test.

Mwharfff.... I couldnt agree more with Jay. I would be on the phone with some serious questions. True the Gretz will most likely be replaced with another year but seriously, they cant make the other two???? I'd go seperatly. How much better does it get for a 1/1 dual auto shield and a 1/1 dual cut???? I am VERY CURIOUS as to what they could offer you to even come close to these two cards. I would be willing to bet my children that you wont get a 1 for 1 deal out of either. Whatever they offer you it better be HUGE Keep us posted and good luck.

Thats just sad. I would do 1 at a time but do it on th ephone so have them pick out some cards and have them in frount of them so they can tell you what they are and you can say yes or no

Like everyone said, 1 for 1, and un-freakin-believable. Even for Upper Deck, that's nuts.

I'd definitely say 1 at a time. Maybe even try to get them to let you know what they are sending as replacements before they send them.

Wow, that's an amazing trio you listed. If I were you I would be calling UD and demanding that one of the higher ups handles your case personally. Adding to that make sure you are told before hand exactly what they will be sending to avoid the frustation the comes when they send you your inadequate replacements.

I just don't see how you can possibly get adequate replacements for either the Auto Shields or the Dual Cut. I would start with Tiger Autos myself. They DEFINITELY have a few top end one's hanging around. Ask about the 'eVolve' Autos out of 2001 UD (#/100). That would be a start.
