Two of my most prized cards are these two bad boys...

...so I was kind shocked to see this card listed...

Thinking that someone had come out with more Iron Man autographed cards (besides Upper Deck and Rittenhouse), specifically of Robert Downey, Jr.

Read the card carefully...these are pre-printed autographs and they're selling for good money. I can see how someone can want to bid high on these expecting an actual signed card. The buyers of these cards are going to be mightily disappointed when the card arrives. The sad part is that the cards are VERY well designed.

Holy Jeebus that's not right...and those two cards of yours are simply outstanding! Great job landing both of those! :)

Wow, that's going to leave some guy without the patience to read the listing very angry. It does clearly state that the autograph is a reprint, but it's easy to be fooled with that slick design.

Can't blame the guy he does state that it is a reprint

Agreed...however, my initial reaction was "wow, someone has put out another solid Downey autograph"! but luckily I have the patience to keep reading. I can only imagine how many people are bidding on this expecting something other than what they're going to get. He is protected by the auction description, though.

Lesson here: read auctions thoroughly and carefully...

My niece noticed a ton of those reprint auto cards for the Twilight series. I think there are a bunch of people mocking up cards looking to make a quick buck.

I'm sure the person putting the cards together doesn't have the authorization to use the photo or the Iron Man logo.

Whether he states it or not....it's just wrong in my book. A bunch of people are going to be disappointed.

Hope he gets busted.

I see nothing wrong with what they are doing aslong as the list what it is. It is no different then the people who sell RP autograph photos. It is the buyer responsability to read what you are buying.

I disagree. They are creating unauthorized cards without permission to use the photo or logo...that said, I will give them a little credit for indicating exactly what it is in the description. But I'd bet without a doubt that they had zero intention of putting it in the title - hence the selling price.

I'm not a big fan of people selling PR autograph photos as well. I think in those instances, the photo has been manipulated in a way not originally intended - and some guy with photoshop and a printer is cashing in.

Don't like it.

Ultimately, and I agree with you, it is the buyer's responsibility to be aware of what they are buying. There will always be those out to profit on those who don't.

What Bamlinden said.

There's a HELLA lot of this stuff out there - Saldana/Avatar is selling a ton right now, but there are still a lot of older actors being shlepped this way.
