OK, one more thread and this time Panini redemptions.

3 more redemptions just added, 2 are limited phenoms rcs and one banner season prime Spezza /25. I never mind getting redemptions, just not a fan of them taking a long time.

The simple reality of the matter is that once the ball gets rolling downhill, you can't stop it. These companies (UD and Panini) have let the ball completely go. To stop and allow the autos to get caught up, devise a new strategy, execute, and release would probably be like a two year exercise. In the mean time they would have to content us with ultra low-end products or on-hand autos only. The lack of interest in those products would result in a lack of revenue, thus not being able to pay the fees, etc. Ugly, sad, real cycle. Only option is to continue to bait and switch the consumer, stringing them along with promises of cards never to be fulfilled.

Crazy thing is, if the BBB or some other business entity would step up and put them in their place, companies like ITG would continue business as usual, while some other new company would step up and get it right eventually. Likely an existing entity.

Bah, I just get more mad.

well my solution is , I say we just stop!!!

Stop buying the cards, the packs, boxes, and cases, let these clowns sit on all the over produced serial #d cards that are camouflaged with thier white redemption cards that have no serial #

You would be suprised when the cases of product start to clutter up the warehouse because they cant sell it how fast they could get the ball rolling with live autos, and then would take a general concern for the consumers. And if not then the clowns go out of business and we dont have to worry about it anymore.

To me it seems like they lose way more money with these redemptions, think about it

1. They have to make them along with the actual card

2. Then have a data base

3. Then an online redeemable database

4. Then all the unecessary 1000s of phone calls, emails etc with customers.

5 Then they have to produce more cards to replace the ones that they " say screw it with, we arent going to make them" to replace those with

6. Then when they finally have some crap to send they spend 1000s on extra shipping

7. Then back to more unecessary phone calls, emails etc from the people who got crappy or undervalued replacements, or replacements that have nothing to do with what was redeemed in the first place, which is most.

I think this dump company makes more white redemptions then autoed cards

I mean they all got out of game used stuff and saved $1000s on switching to about 80% of event worn stuff instead of game used, which they carry over for a few yrs from the RC seasons before you actually see a game worn piece of a player.

Its that simple, there are no more excuses, this company is just greed, and a big freaking failure with some of the crappiest cards I have ever seen IMO. I can see 1, 2 maybe even 3 and some multiple player autoed cards being held up, but come on man, when 70% of your boxes containg a white piece of shiit, blatant disrespect.

And all you guys on crapninis side, I am going to start making some companies for you use, here are a couple

You need money out of the mac, no problem, here, take this nice white piece of cardboard with the total, its better then money, you can sit on it, put it in a nice case, scan it and show people, day dream about how great it will look to actually have it in hand, helll you can even draw on it, make it look fancy, the list is endless good buddy, see me in a couple of weeks, whoops i mean months or was it yrs, ah your a patient guy, you'll wait.

Oh you need that oil changed, in this quart you will find this beautiful quart shaped white piece of cardboard, because we didnt have time to put the oil in, as we wanted the money first....

now scratch off the grey area "as it will reveal the oil type you scored" and sprinkle the particals in the oil pan, then in a speedy time to us, we will send you an email when the oil is in, your car will be ok, "TRUST US WE CARE ;)"

Now maybe if your lucky, since you scored low milage oil, we will upgrade it to high milage oil for our laziness, and a "big possibility", bring you the oil to the spot where your car seized up, now if that isnt HOCKEYFAN1 customer care, I dont know what is my friends :)

I will be a millionare after this, I have to get the ball rolling on this before panini steals it, as they will need to do something with all that white cardboard they have left.

I'm waiting three Charas.

Mirror Black Signatures /1 (30.10.2010)
Mirror Emerald Signatures /5 (10.11.2010)

I thought Panini would have his stickers because they're live in Limited!

I've always thought that the easiest thing would be to hire an "agent" both in the East and West for signings. Say for example I am the East agent and I'm in Ottawa. Once the schedule is released, you look at specific dates when teams are in town and have players meet me for signings. Example: If Boston is in town this Saturday, I can meet with Seguin, Lucic, Chara, etc all on the same day. They sign all their stickers (and whatever hard signed cards at that time) and then walk away. I take evrything and ship it right back to Panini/UD and move on to the next team. Simple enough, no?

I remember when Panini first got their hockey deal, one of the positions they were hiring for was Athlete Relations or something like that. The job was to procure autographs and such. I wanted to apply for the job so bad, but with the wife back in school, there was no way for me to take the job in Dallas at less than half my current pay with our mortgage and stuff. Would've been a dream job.

But I don't understand why they only have one in Dallas. Why not have at least 2 people? 1 in the East and 1 in the West. Heck, I'll even throw my name in the ring for the Eastern rep :)

Probably has to do with being a company employee I'm guessing. The job required working out of Dallas, but traveling a lot. I'm not sure how they would work it to contract someone to do it for them, or how liable the person would be if they acquired autographs and didn't send them...etc.

The contract would be the same either way. If I work for them and travel, I gotta bring the stuff back. If they sub-contract the work to me, there would be a clear clause that would state I must send the autos back in a timely manner, etc

By the way, I can start tomorrow and I can be paid in wax LOL

On a related note I asked about what would happen if a card was damaged b/c I was curious and they have this long list of things you need to send including the receipt, packaging etc etc. I have also read on various boards that their customer service is absolutely terrible...

I like how this thread has taken on a life of it's own. The unfortuante aspect of it is that it has to be posted. I will admit I take can take extreme postions with things, at times in needs to be done. All us collectors see the pride in the faces of each card companies employees at Expo. Now when you talk the talk you gotta walk the walk and Panini is clearly doing the shuffle right now.

Some people feel that 3 card companies should not be used as examples but only 2, I disagree. I believe as a group we need to push for 3 companies working with a license, then we will see who walks the walk. 4 more years till we can do that so we better start.

Taking a 1 company and being true to it is something that history has shown us is not practical. You cannot get value out of any monopoly, Rockefeller made that clear. Loyalty comes when those who are in need of it do the same. Once we foget those who have helped us move along, we get reminded when hearing that familar voice again singing that same sweet song.

The hobby is for us! We make and break it! Members do not forget that. We need to work with these companies but do not need to be subject to poor business practices. We have 4 years to push for 3 licensed companies, let's do it. With that, let's see who remembers us who do it.

Been busy with ASG and Snowmagedon here in Dallas but a couple of updates. First, we've had some changes to CS and our redemption process that should fix a lot of problems. Second, I spent a good amount of time last week weeding through the autos we do have in house and even did a lot of "stickering" myself to get these out ASAP. I think we've pinpointed a major bottle neck in the process and hopefully it'll be better going forward.

hopefully some of those where kovalchuk auto's and the guys from the tough times set.
I'm tired of seeing 14 outstanding redemptions on my panini page.

It is actually no simple at all. Travelling teams just dont come here and wait for the game to start. They have team meetings, reviews, practice, film, interviews, team dinners, appearences. Plus on game day most players like to do nothing during the day so they feel good for the game that night.

The ONLY logical way to get any player to sign stuff in a reasonable amount of time is to get them to sign stuff while on the train, plane or bus.

Thanks,

Just stickered the Lindens. Fowler and Tedenby were two of the TBD cards, haven't seen all of the autos for those yet. Phenom cards being built for Wellman and Eberle, haven't got Hamill autos yet.
