BLACKHAWKS at CANUCKS

(Vancouver leads best-of-seven series, 2-0)

TV -- CBC (HD), VERSUS (HD), RDS (HD), CSN-Chicago (HD)

Big story -- The Canucks held serve on their home ice, winning Game 1 by a 2-0 score and hanging on for a 4-3 win in Game 2. The series shifts to Chicago, where the Blackhawks won only 24 of 41 home games this season. Duncan Keith said at the end of the regular season that "for whatever reason we're a better team on the road," but the Hawks have to win at least one game at home to extend the series beyond Tuesday.

Keith better hope they are a better team on home ice tonight or the Hawks are in big trouble in this series. Look for the Hawks to push back tonight, but the Canucks will give them all they can handle. Vancouver by two goals.

GO NUCKS!

Wow Duncan Keith was just owned. He looked really bad on that play.

He's looked bad the last couple months actually, but not nearly as bad as the defenseman that got completely dipsy do'd in this splendid little clip....

So in the regular season that's a 5 minute major and a game, in the playoffs it's 2 minutes? I just don't get it, if you're going to call a penalty on the hit (not saying it's a penalty either way), call the penalty it's supposed to be, that's why the rule is in place, none of this regular season is one thing and playoffs is another.

I really think that Torres hit is a horrible call. Seabrook has his head downaand is playing the puck. Torres did not leave his feet and he did not lead with an elbow. When will this stop?

That's just mean spirited..........

They had to call it, it was mandated by the league, nothing the refs can do there. If a player is hit in the head from the blindside the league says it's a penalty. Can't blame the refs on that, it has been drilled into their heads. Problem is, they are supposed to call a 5 and a game but they didn't which will bring even more attention to it. Guarantee, tonight on NHL Network and TSN all they will talk about from this game is the Torres hit.

If (more like when) the Canucks win this series, and if they win the West, I am hoping the Flyers are the East winners as I would love to see Pronger, Carcillo, Coburn, Powe, and a few other big physical guys pound the snot out of these Canucks. The Hawks are soft this year, no doubt, so I don't blame the Nucks for playing the way they are. Two years of frustration at the hands of the Hawks so they are finally getting the payback they want so bad. But, when they come up against a team that isn't soft, I hope they get a heavy dose of their own medicine. Not sure there are any teams in the West that can out physical the Nucks, but there are a couple teams in the East that will hammer on them and that's wen they start taking a bunch of really bad penalties and losing their cool.

The Flyers had their chance in the regular season and got pounded themselves 6-2. You'd think they wouldve brought their game to the table when they had a chance. But they didnt. They dont have the finish to handle the Canucks......

Good game, was on the edge of my seat for most of it. I agree that Torres should of gotten 5 and a game. Hopefully he gets benched and they bring Hodgson back in. Even when the Canucks weren't playing that well (except for Luongo, who was great tonight...again) they got the win. That's a good sign.

Guess turnabouts fair play, if the Canucks advance. It's the same feeling most, if not all Canucks fans had about the Hawks last year. We'll see what happens.

I don't see the Torres hit as being a "blindside" hit. He hit him straight on. I think its a great hit nothing more.

Seemed like a blindside hit to me. Much like the Downie and Richards hits. Hope Torres enjoys his hiatus from hockey for the next few days.

I think that hit is normally a non-penalty hit b/c there have been tons of guys that got nailed like that and it's considered a hockey play. But given that Torres already got a penalty earlier in the game for leaving his feet, I think he was on a shorter leash, plus his reputation precedes him now. I guess this could be called a "blindside" hit, despite being a hockey play. I don't think that Torres aimed for his head b/c it was a pretty quick play. Don Cherry will be telling Seabrook, "keep you head up!".

Great game! Canucks seem really poised and the Hawks weren't able to generate much of a scoring chance with Crawford pulled. This is different from other years. Normally, we'd see the Nucks collapse down and run around chasing the puck. They seemed very calm and confident protecting leads now.

Awesome saves by Luongo, especially on Kane. I guess the tables are turned now.

The Canucks have a stranglehold on the series. I don't think Canucks will sweep b/c the Hawks are still a good team, but it won't be easy. Hawks will have to play their best to try to squeak out a win, but they got to start playing more disciplined hockey (ie. Campbell's elbowing penalty while on the PP)
