Homecoming of sorts for Manitoba boy Eric Fehr.
He's a guy with high expectations that has yet to meet them, but he's also been playing the shadow of a lot of other players in Washington. This is a fresh start for him where I believe he'll be relied upon a lot more to perform, and hopefully this will be good for him.

Steal by the Jets, Paquette will probably never play in the NHL, or will have next to no impact in the league.

Well I dnt care for the trade,personally I liked Fehr.Cost cutting or whatever but we need more "guts" players like arnott,fehr,etc not get rid of em heheh.
I don't know I've seen a few moves I like and a few I don't so far from the Caps.Guess I'll wait and see...

This team is now made up of good old Manitoba boys...I think management is trying to create a team full of passoinate locals who both want to be here and want to win for their home team...GREAT pick-up IMO... He has alot to offer and I think he'll have a breakout year now that he is going to have a more prominant role.

Talk about a salary dump, this is a BS trade. Fehr is currently injured, and oft injured, and a guy a who has not lived up to potentional, but as eluded to in another post, he has never been given the true opportunity in Washington either. When he has played with decent players he played well.
Now saying all that, the salary issue would have been null and void had he started the season on the LTIR like he was slated too because of the shoulder surgery. Trading him once he became healthy and the true need arose would have been smarter than this dumping of him for a no-name no NHLer and a 4th round pick. Hell 4th rounders were being traded for just the CHANCE to sign a player not long ago.
This is probably the worst deal Ive seen McPhee do this summer, and that includes over paying Brooks Laich.
